Doherty Insurance is a full service insurance agency providing personal and business insurance products and services to the Andover area and the Merrimack Valley. We pride ourselves on the excellent client services we have provided since 1934.

Story

Doherty Insurance Agency was founded in 1934 by William A. Doherty with the simple goal of providing guidance, quality insurance products and personal service. In 1937, Bill’s Brother, Jim, join him in the Agency, and the two formed a partnership that not only provided the best possible insurance coverage to their clients, but also a commitment to give back to the community in which they worked and lived.

While a great deal has changed since 1934, our commitment to our clients and community was never changed. Today, Doherty Insurance is owned and operated by two of Jim’s children, Sheila M Doherty and Jay Doherty. They are proud to follow in their Father and Uncle’s footsteps and to build on the foundation they established for the agency.
