I love this store and the product they offer. management has improved and are very helpful. the associates are hard working and very kind, the best dollar tree I've been to in the area. I wish i could give more than five stars.

I have gotten into some Hometime crafts lately and they highly recommend Dollar Tree to buy a lot of the products to make things.  I have gone into this store on occasion before, but when I went last week to see if they had any of the recommended items to make simple wreaths, I was disappointed that they had very little to offer in the way of crafting.  I started looking for other stores near me and now, after reading Margaret Yip's review about this store, I will definitely go to a different Dollar Tree even though this one is literally around the corner from where I live.

I usually do not review places and I do not like to be extreme but this store has disappointed me. I used to love this store and the PetSmart next to it but now I will NEVER return to this place unless I get a formal apology from the associates that work there. (Unfortunately, I did not see their names in the fiasco, but I will call the store manager to find out!)*

My mother just needed to buy some tape but ended up buying more, 9 items. The total came out to be $9.21. My mother gave them a $20 bill. Now let's do some SIMPLE MATH here: 20 - 9.21 = 10.79 correct? The associate gave my mother $9.21 back. Simple mistake really! My mother, whose English is poor, tried to explain that they owe her a little more (10.79 - 9.21= 1.58). They refused to give her $1.58 and even took back the $9.21 and told my mother to wait for the manager. 

My mother waited for half an hour and they ignored her. The manager was a no show, and my mother was out of patience and told them that she was upset and refuse to wait any longer. She no longer wanted the items and requested to just have the $20 back and she will be on her way.

They told her she cannot return her items and once again offered her $9.21 and told her to leave. My mother was tired and ready to give in (it was only $1.58 difference) so she started to reach for her purchase. BUT they REFUSED to give her the items she PAID for. They told her to just take the $9.21 and leave. My mother refused, so what do they do? THEY CALLED THE POLICE!!!

I was shopping at Lowe's when my mother called me and told me to hurry to help her. She was terrified! The police were trying to remove her from the store. When I arrived, the policeman were utterly confused themselves. There were two policemen and I swear they were playing nice cop- mean-cop. One of them was willing to listen to my translation, but the other one would not even acknowledge me. The solution was simple. COUNT THE DRAWER and see who is in the wrong. The associates did not want to count without a manager (WHERE IS SHE/HE?) The policemen press them to count. The drawer was over so the policemen returned the $20 bill to my mother. Problem solved? 

NOPE! The associates pressed charges on my mother for TRESPASSING! The policemen told the associate to tell us why and she replies, "I don't speak their language!" in the rudest tone possible. THAT was it! NO APOLOGY.  

My mother is now banned from going to this store, all because one associate does not know how to do simple math.

*Name of associates: Claire (Tall white woman who cannot count) and Jenna (Shorter dark hair freckled face crinkled nose and rude tone)

Store is fine. Products are what you expect for $1 (which deserves the 1 star). Just do not expect anything from the people working here. Manager is always MISSING! Associates are either dumb or downright rude!  Make sure to look at the change they give you and count it back to them because they do not know how to count! Embarrassing really.
