Dr. Tovey is a great doctor, I am a physician myself (not affiliated with IHC) and since I can not write prescriptions for myself I see Dr. Tovey.  He   is a kind person who cares about his patients and is very knowledgeable.

Dismissed all my concerns with zero testing or even basic questions. I'm a diabetic and yet he refused to give me an A1C test. Then hypocritically said i need to have them a couple times a year. I'm losing my current insurance soon and he seemed more concerned about not making money off of me long term as a patient. Said he'd be back, but then just sent in a nurse who referred me to a diabetic clinic with no openings for the moment. Probably the most arrogant and shameless MD I've ever been to. I'd highly recommend seeing someone else if your health is of any concern.

What a horrible experience... I made an appointment to go in and get a cortisone injection in my back, but it was only after I had been admitted and PAID MY CO-PAY that they informed me they actually could not do the injection they had told me they would over the phone. Okay, fair enough... miscommunication happens, right? 

I was a little frustrated, but I was not rude or angry at all. I was seeing DR. TOVEY, who after informing me that he could not do the injection, proceeded to tell me of some simple exercises I could do to loosen my back. This meant nothing to me as I had spent months in physical therapy for this issue, not to mention dozens of chiropractic appointments. I informed him of this, and he instantly lost his temper. 

"Fine, lets just cancel this appointment!" he snaps at me as he gets up and storms out of the room. "I'll just give you some numbers for sports medicine providers." 

I'm left sitting in the room, still in horrible pain. After a few minutes of sitting there not sure what to do, the nurse comes in and gives me a slip of paper with some phone numbers and walks out. So I go to the front desk and ask if I can get my co-pay refunded because I did not receive any treatment and was mis-informed on the phone about what they were going to do, but of course they refuse. 

I will NEVER go here again. I have always thought the doctors there were too eager to just write prescriptions in the past, but to take someone's money, lash out at them when they voice concerns and then refuse to give any real treatment? 

Avoid this "Doctor."
