I went to Dr. Vicki as a child in the 90s. I still have horrible graphic memories from those visits that turned into a phobia as an adult. I remember being terrified that my parents weren't allowed back there with me, especially knowing that each time I went back she would do torturous things to my mouth (caps with not enough numbing agent, didn't inform my parents this was happening.). When I cried, she would yell at me that I was scaring other children and threatened to tell my parents that I misbehaved (this was the mid-90s, when parents weren't as hands on as they are now.). I also have a vivid memory of her pulling one of my front teeth out and then telling my grandma (who took me to the appointment) that it just "fell out." I don't imagine she's changed much and it horrifies me that she still works with children. Do not send your child to her! Don't put your kids through what I had to endure!

My son is 4 years old and needs to get a tooth pulled out and I was told that i was not allowed to go in the back with him. When i asked why the lady in the front office said that was the policy. I explained to her that i don't feel comfortable with my 4 year old son going back there by himself and she said there was nothing she could do. I'm sorry if you have nothing to hide then it shouldn't be an issue.

Our experience w/Dr. Lindauer's office and staff was horrible, at best. For starters, they have a NO PARENTS ALLOWED policy, so parents wait in the waiting area while the child/patient goes in to be treated. This wasn't a problem until they started doing things w/out telling me and of course, my insurance provider doesn't cover every procedure 100%. If we go in for a cleaning, that is what she should get and if anything else is done, it should be communicated to the parent before hand instead of waiting until they bring the child out to you. I went back and forth b/ween my insurance and the dental office a few times. They got tired of me and dismissed my child from ever returning. I thought that was funny since we had already decided not to go back. I rather take my child somewhere that is more communicative and professional.

If you have a child who has autism, DO NOT TAKE THEM TO THIS OFFICE. Prior to the appointment, we inquired if they have worked with children who are autistic and the staff member stated yes. Upon entering the dentist office, we see dish soap in the waiting area where any child could grab ahold of it but luckily we saw it first. When it became time for him to see the assistant she did not greet him or try to establish a relationship with him as anyone with training with autism would do. She simply said go sit in the chair and I'm going to brush your teeth. Anyone who knows autism knows each autistic child is different and they may not understand. We sat him in the chair as she just began to lean it back and turned on the machine for the object that does not resemble a toothbrush in which he began to get scared. We let her know and said he has to hold it and get comfortable that the noise is making him scared. She then keeps the machine on and starts touching him with it which made him even more scared and you could visually see him trying to squirm away with a frightful look. We then politely asked if they have worked with children with autism in which she replied with an attitude, " We see them everyday." At this point we knew the appointment was over before you send him into full meltdown as you attempt to open his mouth. Upon calling the office they stated they were not allowed to give out the name of whom he had just seen in order to inform our insurance company. A child with autism should never have this as their first experience with a dentist and we informed the assistant at the time of the appointment that they do need more training.

My Grandma works at this dentist. When I need some work done I make sure that go to Dr. Lindauer. The waiting room is full of things for the kids to do. I think that fun waiting rooms like theirs help kids relax when going to get dental work done. Overall I wouldn't go any where else.
