I've gotten my shirts tailored on 2 different occasions and both times they promised to fed ex them and never did.

The store itself was great and when I made a purchase the service was also great. But when I made a return........not so much. I purchased some shirts for my brother for his birthday and it turns out he didn't really like them so I went to return them and before I went I called to be sure of the return policy. What I was told on the phone was not what I was told when I got to the store. First it was a gift and the tags were removed. I had them they just weren't attached. Second I made the purchase with a debit card and most major retailers view debit and cash as one in the same and will give you the cash as opposed to putting it back on a card. Now normally this wouldn't be so frustrating but I just closed the bank account that was used to make the purchase. So here's what pissed me off. The manager went on this long drawn out explanation about it has to go back on the card because the bag could have been stolen and I could be trying to get the cash. So that pissed me off but then when he found out the card was cancelled be says "oh I can put it on another bank card" now as a former retail manager and a current operations manager at a transportation company I know that's not the way it works. The funds need to be put back on the original card or you need to give me store credit. Because just as I could have stolen the bag and wanted the cash I could have stolen the bag and wanted the cash to go on another debit card. I've been a DXL employee and I've also been a customer for a long time and I knew what the manager was saying wasn't right at all, he just didn't want to take the extra steps to make my customer experience an enjoyable one. As much as I like the clothes and the deals at DXL I will never shop there again although Macy's and Dillards are a little pricey their policy is cut and dry and written on the receipt so there's no room for one employee to tell me one thing then for her manager to not honor what she told his customer so they have gained my business exclusively. BTW its been two days since I had to reopen the account just to get my 40 bucks back and it still hasn't shown in my account, my bank says nothing has shown up from the retailer. It didn't take two days for the store to get my DEBIT BECAUSE ITS THE SAME AS CASH ! Two stars for great products but poor poor customer service and retention.
