East Coasters Bike Shop is ill-mannered in essence of their customer services... Today, (3.2.18) I went in to get an estimate on a tuneup for my two bicycles, and they refused to work with me on the grounds of (according to them) "Yeah, you're better off buying a new bike from us (mind you their cheapest bicycle is $400.00) then getting a tuneup on these things." Granted sure, my two bicycles have indeed seen much better days...   But at the same instance, all I needed were my tires & chain changed & my brakes replaced which at the most would be $180.00 all together . All in all, these folks are vampires for the money, & could careless about the well-being of their customers. Further just to be fair 'East Coasters Bike Shop' you run a petty bike shop not a some large stock exchange on Wall Street.

Best of Luck with your grimy, greedy, & gritty business, you all are vampires.

I appreciate your input, but we are still polarized insofar of our differing viewpoints & experiences -- I really hope this experience does not turn into some behind the screens cyber-warfare argument...  Just let me be, please.

Exceptionally knowledgeable staff with all the right skills and tools to find the right bike for you. The mechanics are top-notch, too. Expect great service from a caring bunch of bike nuts.

The sales staff and mechanics are always helpful and quick without making me feel like they're trying to sell me anything I don't need.  Scott's still my favorite mechanic in town: the only place I'd trust with things like drilling out a stripped rivnut in my frame, etc.  Plus, with an NRVBA bike club membership you get a discount on parts and clothes and such!

Not willing to work on my older bikes. Wanted to make a bid for fixing every thing back with new parts for 3x the price of a used bike hmmm, odd business model but very friendly.

we stopped by today and got some excellent advice about our worn rims(we need new bikes.) and everyone was helpful and friendly!! knowledgeable about trails and offered suggestions on our (grim) rim problem. we aren't from Blacksburg but if we were... we'd be buying two new trek 520s from these guys at east coasters!! great service!!
