Many unique and local to national chains in this shopping center gives this good diversity. They're are some stores that are worth visiting here such as Guglhupf, Great Outdoor Provisions, and if you must Trader Joe's. Parking can be tricky and the traffic pattern can be challenging, but otherwise no different from any busy shopping center.

East Gate shopping center is not a mall. It's a plaza. The main attraction is Trader Joe's for which the parking is crowded on any given day. There is also a Chipotle which is possibly the second greatest attraction. There is a Great Outdoors store which is pretty cool too. I dunno, it's a plaza, the design is okay.

This place has really improved in the last few years, with old staples (Trader Joe's, Starbucks) joined by great new spots (Babalu, Guglhupf). Nice place to run a few errands and/or grab lunch.

Went to Trader Joe's. I'd compare it to whole foods. Great place to shop for natural and organic foods. The choices are a bit different than whole foods.

One of the few places in Chapel Hill where you can park, eat, and shop affordably.  Eastgate continuues to gow in popularity with a range of eateries from The Loop and Chipotle to Zoe's Kitchen and Babalu.  There's a drugstore, shoe store, bird supply, Trader Joe's, and Guglhupf bakery.  And lots more.  Have a massage and enjoy a bagel!
