I've always heard that first impressions are usually incorrect and in the case of my experience with Edgewood Dental, my first impression turned out to be very incorrect. My first appointment made me feel like I was a guest as a fancy hotel and not a dental patient. The entire staff greeted me warmly and made me feel very at ease. My experience with the technicians and doctors was so great I left feeling like I hadn't just been to a place I usually dread (I have a rather large fear of the dentist). I left the office and was actually looking forward to my followup appointment. My appointment today, which was the third one I had with ED and will be the LAST one, was awful. Unlike the first appointment, where I was made to feel like I would one day have the smile I wanted and would be proud to smile, I was made to feel like those dreams were a waste of their time. I had left a message earlier this morning around 4 a.m to see if there was any possible way for me to be seen because I was in excruciating pain. That's when I went into the patient portal and saw one appointment left for today! I was so relieved because that meant if I made it through the next couple hours then I'd no longer be in pain. Instead, after a quick x-ray and a glance at it from the dentist, I was told there was infection and it had to be treated first. Because of other health issues, I knew exactly what an infected tooth felt like and this wasn't it. I was told I'd get antibiotics and then we'd see what we needed to do after that. The tech brought back my script for antibiotics and I asked her what else they were going to do. He came back and I asked him if he could do the extraction and I was told no. I know that a tooth can't be pulled if there is infection but I knew there wasn't one. I told the dentist that. He said we had to get this non-existent infection cleared up first, plus he didn't have the time to do it today. My hour long appointment slot was stopped at 20 minutes and I left the office in just as much pain as when I showed up. I was treated like a drug seeker and was rushed out of the office. I was so upset that I left there in tears; partly because I was hurting and partly because I so offended and made to feel like I didn't matter to them at all. I ended up calling my former dentist, who I didn't think was in my insurance network, to see if he could do anything. I was told they were in fact in my network and they would take me as soon as I got there. They did an x-ray and he said he saw no sign of infection. He did the extraction and now two days later I feel so much better. It's one thing if a doctor and/or dentist cannot treat you because there is something legitimately preventing immediate treatment, but to be told that they don't have time for you (15 minutes into an hour long appointment slot) and be rushed back out the door is not only infuriating but it also hurts emotionally. I've met some doctors with terrible bedside manner before, but this is the first time I was told that a doctor didn't have time to help me. I felt angry, humiliated, and embarrassed and I will NEVER go back to this place again.

I absolutely love my hygienist, Ashley. She is so thorough and precise with my teeth. She makes all of my experiences great! I literally schedule my appointments around Ashley's (Hygienist) work schedule because she is just that awesome. She makes going to the dentist fun and I appreciate the conversations we have every time. She is a gem!

Just home from my first visit here (after quite some time) and it was excellent! The dental specialists helped me with x-rays and cleaning, and I appreciated their efficient, friendly and down-to-earth service. They even helped with some extra paperwork for Peace Corps... The office staff was also kind and helpful, and made mine a very pleasant experience! My thanks, again, to you all!

The staff there was very helpful and extremely friendly. They made sure I understood their recommendations and the steps for my dental future. I would highly recommend them.

The staff at Edgewood Dental is beyond amazing. They are timely, kind, and patient - always trying to make you feel the most comfortable you possibly can at the dentist! Dr. McMahon is extremely knowledgeable. He is approachable and makes you feel like you are part of the Edgewood Dental family.
