I am guessing anyone who gave one star has never done a ride-along or is unable to because they are felon. The men and women of the Edina Police Department are some of the best humans I have ever come in contact with. If you think you have the mental and physical fortitude to be a law-enforcement officer try a ride along for one shift. You will see how fast "you" would quit because of all the stress, get killed because you want to talk about it or get fired on your first day for shooting somebody that was just pulling out a wallet ( you said show me your hands !!!). Respect the law and the law enforcers. You will soon be on your way to being a five star citizen. I'm not a cop, I didn't have the balls. MT Kip

I am proud to have served on the Edina Police Department for twenty-nine years. The best part of being an Edina Police officer was the unfailing support the residents shown to the officers who served in the city. I will be forever grateful for that support and I remind the men and women currently serving that the support of the silent 47,000 is far more important than the caterwauling of 150. I'm also grateful for the principled direction of the city councils under which I served. There were many honorable people serving on the council under whom it was my good fortune to have served. Apparently the standards for council membership are not as stringent as they once were. This is a shame. I believe the Edina Police Department is among the finest in Minnesota. I sincerely wish that the officers continue to bravely serve and uphold the law as has been their tradition for decades.

I just saw a video on the news. What I saw was a disrespectful individual. Treating a professional law Enforcement with total disrespect and disregard. So much, it looked like the Lieutenant was at a loss. I am a liberal thinking Democrat but, when any Law Enforcement, Government, Military, or any other reasonable party is working for our city, State , and Country, be respectful. Cooperate. Go around. them! Realize their jobs can be incredibly difficult and that MOST of them are GOOD PEOPLE! If one engages you, ask what you can do to help. Don't argue with them! This black, white thing just has to be bred out of the human gnome. I'm guess another 200 years and racism should be a thing of the past. IN THE MEANTIME, EVOLVING CAN BE A PAINFUL PROCESS FOR ANY SPECIES. REGARDLESS, IF A COP PULLS YOU OVER BLACK, WHITE, ASIAN, OR WHATEVER, SIMPLY DO WHAT THEY ASK!!! BE NICE AND COOPERATE! YOU'RE LIFE AND THEIRS WILL TURN OUT A LOT BETTER.
