Talk about an experience!! My husband treated me to this restaurant for my birthday back in April. We were being taken care of by Larry at the time and when we walked to the table all of the staff had signed a birthday card for me. That evening I ordered the Halibut and would recommend to anyone! While eating Larry whose absolutely amazing recommended that I save some room for a banana foster, because it would end our evening the right way. Well of course he was not wrong! Watching Larry make the Banana Foster, educate us on how he makes it, and get to know more about the place was definitely a memory I will not forget. We had such a great time that we came back that same week a second time and we taken care of by Doug! Immediately Doug and Larry teamed up to ensure we had the best dining experience a second round I also got the Halibut again with Mac and cheese. After leaving we knew this would be our spot where we will celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and everything in between! 3 months later we came back and was again treated with so much care and the food the seafood was fresh. I’d highly recommend trying eating here for your anniversary or birthdays!
Service was exceptional. Food was amazing. Ambiance was a bit loud that it drowned out the piano music. Overall enjoyed our night. The staff took the time to recognize our anniversary and greeted us warmly. I'll be back. It's pricey but to me it's worth the great service and food.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoCurbside pickup: No
I came here for seattle restaurant week. So glad I didn't pay full price since overall the experience was lacking. Food took forever. I think it took at least 30 minutes to get our soup. It took awhile to get drinks and all the courses. I don't think they had a coat check in since nobody asked me. FOOD: The group felt that the lobster bisque was too salty. There was no lobster in it either. The wild truffle soup was creamy and delicious. They had free bread for the table. I didn't eat any but according to my friends it was acceptable. Bread is already buttered. The gaucho cosmo is extremely sour. It took me nearly 2 hours to drink it. The sangria and old fashion was a group favorite. I got the filet mignon and it did not come out with the desired temperature. My friends got the sirloin and their food was more cooked too. I waited so long for the food, I wasn't going to wait another 40 minutes. The desserts were okay. The key lime pie came with berries. It is not the season for blackberries or blueberries hence sour berries. I got the sorbet. It was not memorable. At the end we were served a free charcuterie plate. It consist of goat cheese, fig jam, grapes, crackers, apples and pears. I had great company which made eating mediocre food tolerable. Service was ok. The waiter had a sarcastic personality. Bathroom was clean and located on the second floor. I took the stairs. I didn't see an elevator. Parking They have a parking garage. The parking garage is labeled El gaucho with arrows. They also have valet. I parked at the parking garage and got validation. The parking garage is near the valet. It is not right on the street. Parking: parking garage
Absolutely amazing! The place is beautiful and are super friendly and the food is delicious. Was there for my birthday with my friend and qe had a wonderful time. We enjoyed every single bit of it. We definitely going back.Food: 5/5
Went for my birthday. The table was decorated with flower petals and a note from the restaurant wishing me well. The service was impeccable - friendly but professional, and our server gave us great advice on the steaks aged v. grass fed. The food was amazing; my steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The sides, particularly the roasted sprouts, were fantastic. Yes, it is expensive, but we had great food, great service, and left overs to enjoy the next night.
Such a nice touch done by the staff at El Gaucho. The table was set with rose petals half in yellow for a birthday and the other half with red rose petals for anniversary. The food was excellent like always. We order the tuna tartar for the appetizer, crab bisque soup, Cesar salad, filet mignon, lobster, Mac & cheese and French fries.
Had a fantastic experience here. The service was great and really loved the table side dishes like the caesar salad and flaming sword tenderloin. The background piano music was also great. Food was delicious especially if you like meat but they do have a couple of vegetarian options. Highly recommend for a nice date night or fancy dinner with the family.
An absolute family favorite. I had my birthday here I love El Gaucho and have for years there’s just something so special about it, probably has to do with the live piano. Absolutely adore coming for drinks here with friends too.
My steak was black. I did ask for medium-well. All the other food we very good and delicious. Overall I had a good time with my family.Recommended dishesFilet Mignon & Lobster
I'm a pretty good cook, and especially good at proteins. Do yourself a favor and just get starters, seafood entrées, and sharable sides because I've seen too many disappointing steaks come out of El Gaucho's kitchen. Just last time, I ordered a steak medium well and it came out incredibly rare. After taking a few bites, the waiter came by to ask how things were going and I showed him. He just took it to the back and they cooked it a little longer. This of course dries it out since it was cut into smaller pieces. I'm not even sure if that was a health code violation or not... Regardless, this is extremely disappointing considering you're paying $100+ for a steak entrée after tax and mandatory gratuity. Service is usually good but it can get a little slow since the staff has to do a lot of things tableside. They give you a little charcuterie board at the end which is awesome and their deserts and cocktails are quite nice. Wish I could give them a higher rating but I always feel like I can do better at home with steaks. The premium you're paying doesn't quite add up compared to other restaurants. Parking: You can valet or park in the garage and get it validated.
