There was a delay in getting seated. Once we were, we has a great meal and portions were plentiful. This a great spot to engage with your party. I had the steak & scallops. So much food, I had lunch for the next day!
Went on a random Friday night and there was absolutely no wait! TONY was super awesome, friendly and made some delicious food!! A bit over priced and they weren’t offering sushi but the experience was fun. Thanks Tony for making our first experience at Tokyo enjoyable and delicious!!
There was 2 of us and the only ones in the restaurant . The hostess was very rude . Waited ten minutes for her aknowledge us. Didn’t even say hello just said “ no sushi and only 1 check “ . We should’ve turned away there. She’s the hostess , bartender , server , everything. We sat down and she again said “ one check only “ about 2 -3 more times. They don’t use garlic butter. They used 1 egg for all of our fried rice but he burnt half and threw it out so it was really only half a egg . The filet was PERFECT , soo good . The food in general was good but could’ve been better with garlic butter. The drinks were delicious and thankfully you could taste the liquor because she said they only came with 1 shot . So fast forward . We get our bill and they Automatically charged 20% gratuity . I asked about it because typically it’s only automatically applied to larger groups. She said everyone has to pay 20% even if it’s a party of 1 . The tip was almost the price of my plate. Then after I sign there was still a place to leave a tip ! We were going to tip her regardless but not 20% because the service just was terrible . She disappeared after taking our order and didn’t return until we had to search for her. Not only that but what irritated me the most was the fact that she told us “one check “ 4 X but didn’t mention the gratuity charge once . She said there was a sign at the entrance. On the way out I looked for the sign and it was a piece of paper that was all torn up on the desk , I should’ve took a picture . . . $204 for 2 plates & 3 drinks , terrible service but good food. Will not return .
Went here for dinner to celebrate my sisters engagement, the food was very good, but the fire alarm went off in the middle of our service. It was very loud, and one of the guests dining with us had to eat at the tables outside because of the noise. I understand that situations arise that are out of a businesses control, but I would expect cordial service in such a situation. One of our guests asks if it was possible to get a discount on the meal because of the interruption, and was told by the manager that it wasn't possible due to food cost. I understand that they still have cost regardless of the fire alarm, however I expected at least some compassion from the manager. After we paid the full bill, the the manager returned to inform us we now had to pay a separate bill for up charges that we're not charged to us on the original bill. I have never experienced such a thing in a restaurant. Great food, and a lovely atmosphere, but the management made it a unpleasant experience. I hope this establishment aims to do better in the future.
Server Jane was not friendly, seemed pushy and didn't ask if we wanted drinks, condiments, salt/pepper or really anything. She didn't mention anything about adding a 20% tip automatically. She also didn't listen to feedback for our meal & might as well just not asked how everything was. Food was bland and I left hungry after we paid a large bill. The whole experience wasn't good enough to justify lack of service, poor food quality and charging for a better dining experience than they provide. I also don't know why they cook the food the way they do. They cooked the fried rice first. Then after that was cold on our plates, they cooked the vegetables. Once those were cold they finally had the tasteless meat done. Why not cook all together so its ready at the same time the way its supposed to be served? The steak was ok but needed something more. It would be so easy just to provide a little salt or sauce or even care to ask. That "yummy" sauce was not yummy and that's all they offered. The concept seemed cool and kids like the fun show, but I won't be back for food or service!
This is your standard Japanese steakhouse experience, complete with smoking onion and clanking of utensils on the grill, they don't seem to allow the famous Benihannas large knife twirling these days which was much more dramatic than a spatula...lol. Food quality and presentation is as expected for this open grill style restaurant. Are you not entertained! FOLLOW ME for more thoughtful recommendations as I travel the world
I am super bummed to have to write this as one of the Tokyo Steakhouse locations has always been a go-to place for one of our kids' B-day dinners. We've been to Bellevue a few times but this time was by far the worst. Had to make reservations for specific time but the restaurant was completely empty all night long. Believe it is due to only 1 chef scheduling 1 table for each hour. This was damn near robbery! WAY OVERPRICED!! $800bill for 6 adults and kids all under 11!! My 1yr old niece was automatically charged $15.99 for sharing an already $34 order of just chicken and fried rice!!! Two drinks came out to $54!! Thank goodness they didn't have any sushi or appetizers available that were on the menu. When we tried to order something else, we were told to go to one of the other places as they don't serve sushi or anything appetizers any more. Ruined a birthday for sure as everyone was super upset leaving dinner with how much we had to pay. Only good thing was the lady was super nice which I appreciated but the chef was not engaging, not fun, did not seem to enjoy what he was there to do.
We had a party of 12 to celebrate my birthday. The staff was very friendly and our server was very attentive. Our chef was great and very entertaining! The kids had a blast and we can't wait to go back! Kid-friendliness: The staff was great with the children. Fun and friendly atmosphere! Parking: Parking garage was available in the same building. Free for the first 3 hours!
The food was good but the customer service was horrible!! We waited like 10 minutes before anyone came over to greet us. Compared to the other hibachi places you get less food. I should have read the views before coming. For some reason the rice don’t come with the meal and wasn’t told until after the check came out.
They had the makings of a great experience, but are clearly not run well. We practically had to beg for the servers to come back and help us, when we asked for a refill of soda we were told we'd be charged again after the 3rd refill. No ice cream at the end of the evening. Just really tacky and low budget and unimpressive. We won't go back.
