This was my second stay. After the first I told anyone with ears how much I loved it. My second stay was even better which I didn't think was possible. Both Mike and Rita are a pleasure to be around. The place is immaculate and they really have thought of everything. My boyfriend was in awe too. I am sad to see a few bad reviews especially about Rita personally. I can't imagine her treating anyone unfairly. I show up in a junky old car and am far from wealthy but she and Mike treated us with the same respect as the doctors that stayed as well. Being in customer service myself I know you can't please everyone. For me I wouldn't suggest they change a thing! Thank you for giving us a great experience. We hope to be back!

We had a delightful experience here, and will be returning as soon as time allows.  It was the second stop on our whirlwind honeymoon adventure, and we had accidentally arrived early.  Rita welcomed us in and gave us a tour of our room.  We were greeted with a wine of our choice, a delicious cheese, fruit, and thin bread platter with a bowl of chocolates.  The room, the Raffles, was immaculate and beautifully decorated... the pictures on their website, which drew us in, did not fully capture how extraordinary we found our room to be.  In the morning, we were greeted with coffee and tea while she prepared a 4 course breakfast which was the best I have had.  While we dined, she shared some tips as to how she prepared it at our request.  She took no shortcuts.  The dishes were garnished beautifully. Everyone at the table, 8 of us, ate everything on our plates.  Mike came down and gave us some recommendations for sights to see while we were in Sanibel, our next stop, and mentioned some beaches farther north where we could find shark teeth.  We left the breakfast table pleasantly full to check out the area and enjoy our special time together.  Since we had to leave at 5:30 for an early flight (we originally told her we would be leaving at 6) she lovingly prepared us a take along bag with freshly baked scones and muffins, warning us they were still quite warm, as well as coffee in to go cups.  Oh yeah, she also gifted us two bird ornaments since we had mentioned at breakfast that our wedding was love bird themed.  From the moment we stepped foot in the door here, we were treated like family, and we really could not have had a better experience.

Our stay at Elephant Walk was perfect! We stayed in The Cadiz Garden Suite and it was beautifully decorated. There is a fascinating story behind every decor in the house. Breakfast was delicious. Thank you Mike and Rita!!

I'm having a pretty hard time digesting the positive reviews of this place . Pretty awful experience. Food was was a 3*, room was nice. Felt pampered. BUT DO NOT have a differing political opinion from Rita. She clearly doesn't care about keeping customers because she's selling the place. Yikes. Co-exist y'all.... be kind.... and live on.  Why get in people's face unannounced if you are far left or far right? It's  unfortunate.
