Tyson chicken plant right across the river smells TERRIBLE! Bathrooms are disguting. No trash cans throughout campground. Rock ground throughout makes tent camping not fun. Not a great place to swim. No fire pits. Expensive. $12 a night PER PERSON and bundles of firewood are $10 a pop. Staff forgot life jackets when we were shuttled up river. Campground across the river played loud music until 2am Friday night. I am a pretty avid camper and do not have super high standards but this was absolutely the worst campground I have ever experienced. If you come to float the Elk stay literally anywhere else.

Have stayed here multiple times. Large campground albeit mostly on rocks. But a decent party spot

When I called the office to make a reservation, the lady I was talking to kept interrupting me and hung up after I gave her my information (coming Friday and staying the night and canoeing on the river on Saturday, 45 for canoe and 36 for camping). We got here and the owners said that we needed to pay for 2 nights since it is a weekend so we "don't take up a spot for other people that are staying more nights" we talked awhile and they found my reservation and decided to let us go ahead and stay one night. We drove down a gravel road to the campground and there was no grass! We had to sleep on rocks and 5 layers of blankets did not even cover that; and the river we were going to swim on didn't even have a place we could climb down to get in and out. The other side of the river was horribly loud all night. We packed up in the morning to rent our canoe and now they want to charge us 65 dollars to have 3 people when clearly we had 3 people while in the office. Moral of the story, this place is HORRIBLE. Do not go here if you want to enjoy your experience and leave with some money left.

We went to the first camp ground and were told we had to go to Wayside and they would bring us back to that one to put in our kayaks. We were told we had to take our kayak with us. So we reload our own kayak and drive to Wayside. We rent 4 single man kayaks and are charged $35 each, then we are charged $40 to have our own kayak hauled back to the place we were just at!!!! The lady at the counter was rude, and seemed confused about our questions. We've been going here for years and will now never go back.

Not good. They didn't warn us that the waters were high and dangerous, our canoe got lodged between two branches because of strong currents. We almost lost everything we brought in a water safe bag, because of the current being so strong. Not only did they not offer a refund, they would have charged us for the paddles that got swept away, if someone else hadn't rescued us, and given us their paddles, so we could get back to the camp.
