This was probably our least favorite campground we've ever stayed at, which is a disappointment because it's in our home town. We arrived here after a 16 hour road trip from Pennsylvania. We arrived at night. The site was unlevel so we had to spend a bit extra time getting things set up. By the time we got done, we got our outdoor stuff and just set it outside and planned on organizing it as we always do in the morning. My husband had to leave very early that next morning. Right at 8AM a manager started pounding on our door. My daughter had just woken up and was in the bathtub. He started complaining to me about my truck being in a bad spot and our outdoor stuff needed to be organized immediately. Not a good way to start things off. About 2 weeks later the water main line froze. This is understandable in the weather situation but when everyone else at the campground had water EXCEPT US, we got frustrated. We had zero water for over a week. The campground owners did nothing except move us to a different site and offer us free pizza. One of the campground managers took it upon herself to tell me how my daughter should be dressed one day. Stating "won't she freeze in what she's wearing". When she was dressed perfectly for the weather that day and I informed her we would be indoors all day. Also, if you have two vehicles, plan to park the second one elsewhere. Even in their slow season. They have plenty of room at the sites for two vehicles and couple of acres of unused space for extra vehicles- but that's only for nightly customers. You will be charged an extra $30 for both vehicles. Regardless. Even if the water main line is frozen which is their issue. They will still charge you even if you can't stay there at all. The playground for children really needs to be upgraded. There's only room on it for 1 child, maybe 2. With a slide and a rock climbing wall. Toddlers can't enjoy it. Last but certainly not least. Putting a campground right next to a train track... The train goes through every hour or more. The horn blares and wakes you up from a dead sleep repeatedly through the night. Major disappointment. We really thought this would be an awesome campground. Gave 2 stars due to the fact that a couple of the ladies in the office and a couple of the men were really nice and helpful. One man in particular worked by himself to try to unfreeze our water main line. That was very kind of him.

We stayed here one night, what a beautyfull place! Very friendly staff, they gave us good advice and information about Springfield. The camproumd itself is great for RVs and motorhomes, plenty of space and they are all flat. There is no need te level you vehicle. There is one negative thing, that is the train track wich passing by very close.

I made reservations to stay 3 nights in September(21-23). I made the reservation in person on 1 August at this KOA office and specified a particular space (#71). The office personnel assured me all was fine and that the space was mine for those 3 nights. My confirmation email of the reservation also identified space #71 as being assigned to us. We were all set; not so fast. Upon arrival at this KOA on 21 September we found that we had been arbitrarily moved to a different space. The staff was reluctant to give us the space we had reserved despite it being on the confirmation email. Glad I saved it. We were told it is KOA policy to not reserve or guarantee particular spaces because it may be necessary to move customers depending on capacity; and that it is not customary for a confirmation email to identify a specific space for this very reason. The staff could not explain why my email listed a specific space. If that is the policy then that should be explained at the time of making a reservation, particularly when someone wants a specific space; not to mention it would have been nice to have gotten a courtesy call or email informing us that we were being moved to a different spot. The day of arrival is not the time to find out. Only after a 30 minute discussion were we finally assigned to the space we had reserved. Needless to say check-in was not pleasurable. Lastly, the clean up after your pet policy needs to be enforced as well as the requirement to keep your pet on a leash. I saw multiple violations of the "leash law" despite on-duty staff being present and witnessing same. Next time we will drive the extra 45 minutes and stay in Branson.
