Even Stevens is a local sandwich shop chain with a cause. For every sandwich we sell, we donate one to our local non-profit partners Youth Futures, Catholic Community Servies of Northern Utah, OWCAP, and Boys and girls Club of Weber Davis Counties.
Vintage trains. Historic hotels. Festivals and farmers markets. Lush summers and colorful autumns. Ogden is one of those oddly alluring, almost mystical places that had our team wondering if we’d been there before. In a land of locomotive history and Art Deco architecture right out of Gatsby, the past still makes its presence known. There’s an undeniable spirit of labor and progress still hanging in the air. We fancy the thought that some of those spirits may still be slinging hammers for a good cause. (And letting us channel their work ethic)
Our spot in the old Castlemain Ballard building on Washington Blvd. landed us just north of Historic 25th Street, and next door to the former site of the beloved local music venue, Mojos (R.I.P. 2015). 80+ year old ghost signage can still be seen today above our bright neon sign and cedar façade.
Artifacts include a 1950’s pachinko game (aka Japanese pinball) that once occupied soldiers in an army barracks during the Korean war, a shuffleboard table, vintage gilded mirrors and historic photos of Ogden in the restrooms.
