Story

Amy Britt, sole owner of Pig & A Jelly Jar opened its first location in Salt Lake City in 2012, its second location in Ogden in 2015 and its 3rd location in Holladay in 2017. She believes food should be made with love, served with integrity and the dining experience unique.

Pig & A Jelly Jar is a modern Southern comfort food diner, serving breakfast and lunch all day. At Pig we use fresh quality ingredients, non-GMO safflower oil, scratch recipes as well as many local and organic products.

I love this restaurant. The food is good and the wait staff is awesome. It's also nice to have a place that is openly an ally. Today was disappointing. I took my lunch break to eat here with my significant other, and it took 50 minutes to get our food. Now, I get it. It's the day after the New Year, the January funk is setting in, so I get it if people are a little slow. But over the course of this 50 minute wait, drinks weren't refilled, and the waitress didn't check on us. To be frank, I'll still go back, but this experience was definitely not what I've grown accustomed to from this establishment.

I had the chicken and waffles. So scrumptious and delectable. Plus their Pride Punch which was surprisingly refreshing and balanced in sweetness. When we 1st got there to get a table they offered to text us when it was ready due to a 20 min wait so we could go get drinks beforehand. Great hospitality. Comparable to the real thing from the South.

This is a conflicting or contradictory 5 star. Service. Great.
Food. Great.
Breakfast was quick, in house sausage was great.
Bacon was flavorful.
Taters cooked well.
The place is called pig and a jelly jar....
No jelly on the tables nor served with the toast?
Kinda odd, eh? Not even the little smuckers restaurant jellies. No offer of jelly either.
I'm confused. If that's what your name is, shouldn't the menu and practically everything come with jelly?

The food was AMAZING!  The service, not so much. 

I had the kitchen sink three scrambled eggs and my wife had the Creole Braised Pork Belly Benedict. We both had a wonderful experience actually eating but the dishes took upwards of half an hour to arrive and it wasn't uncommon to wait over twenty minutes between waitress visits. We watched the table next door wait twenty minutes to have their card run so they could leave. The poor service, slow delivery times and being subjected to a wailing child prevent a higher rating.

Edit: we went back and it was wonderful all around. Service was prompt and friendly and food was AMAZING like the first time.

This place absolutely slaps. While the wait can be a little long when it's busy, it's worth every minute. The food is fantastic, well-seasoned, and quite reasonably priced for the amount you get. I would definitely come back.
