Stunning place. Really beautiful... Go buy the map at the office. Some trails are wicked though, so read the trail level and description on the back of the purchased map.

Great for riding horses, biking or just stomping around. I have yet to explore the whole place

I visited Fair Hill for mountain biking, starting my visit at the park office (buy the map, it's a good way to support the park, it's vital for your visit, and for me, at least, a printed map is useful). Many parks / outdoor areas only begrudgingly 'tolerate' bikers. At the Fair Hill office, they were friendly, and helpful, helping me find trails that fit my skill level and the time I had available. Their printed map shows 4-6 marked trails, but there are many, many more criss-crossing the area. The entire area is beautiful. After spending eight hours (over two visits) there, it seems to demand much more to see all there is to see. One word of advice: don't be afraid to talk to other users you see on the trial. I was able to get tips on navigation and unmapped trails that greatly improved my ride. The only caution I would provide is to pay extra close attention to the trail 'rules of the road'. These trails, particularly the marked ones, are heavily used, by hikers, bikers of all skill levels, and by horses. Simple communication and an understanding of the rules of the road make a better experience for all, and a spooked horse is no fun for the rider, or for anyone nearby. Most of all, just get out there, explore, discover, and enjoy. For its proximity to Newark and Wilmington, this place provides an incredible and beautiful experience.
