Owned & operated by Thomas Power, Jr & the Power family. Located adjacent to The Cheese Shop. Call, stop in, or visit opentable.com for reservations. Seating at bar & patio first come basis. Hostess is available Mon-Sat after 10am & 11am on Sun.

Story

Fat Canary has been awarded the AAA Four Diamond every year since opening in 2003. Fat Canary has also been awarded Top 100 in America by OpenTable and #1 restaurant by Hampton Roads Monthly.
Open daily, beginning at 5pm, for dinner only. Reservations are highly recommended.

Thank you for the absolute best dining experience!!! From appetizers to desserts everything was delicious. The service is wonderful as well. Even my husband who's so annoyingly picky loved everything. Definitely our favorite place now, so worth a little drive from Hampton

The restaurant was very busy on a Thursday night which would indicate either fantastic food, fantastic service, or fantastic value. It is none of the above. Started with an appetizer of blackened tuna nachos which was okay. Typical heavy mexican toppings with tuna thrown in, expected something brighter. . Followed by a blackened tuna entree which had the same profile as the nachos accompanied by cold rice I was expecting a better dish from a restaurant called the Fat Tuna. Shrimp and grits was good but not exceptional along with a seafood pasta dish that also was good but not exceptional. After a horrible experience on 2 /17 Jack ask that we return and give them a second chance for a better dining experience. When we arrived at the restaurant Jack was nearby and I introduced myself to him as being a patron would had a horrible experience. And I expected that he would at very least ask if our dinner was good and he didn't which was very disappointing. We won't be returning.

By far the best restaurant I have ever been to. Had a wonderful anniversary dinner with my wife there. Amazing food, wonderful service and very relaxing atmosphere. I will definitely be returning.

Wow, this place got everything right. Great cocktails, great wine pairings and very swift service. Excellent staff as well. Pictured is the Foie Gras appetizer, my god was that fantastic.

Fabulous dining experience! Three course meal was delicious. Service was outstanding. Reservations are required due to demand.
