stars mostly for the food. This is a classic American Diner the place is clean if older. I see by other reviews that the service was good. Not so much in our case. My son had his coffee refilled once and I never got my water refilled. After bringing us our check our waitress abandoned us. I dont know if it was shift change or what but NOT impressed with the level of service. I even stood at the register for a good cpl minutes waiting to get noticed. Onto the food. I ordered the patty melt and my son ordered a #1 breakfast. The pancakes were good the bacon was good and the potatoes are industry standard hash browns meaning reconstituted but good enough, the eggs however were NOT real or even tasty. You can tell the scrambled eggs were dehydrated or otherwise processed. The patty melt was good enough but nothing special. You get a lot of filler food like fries with decent enough portions but it used to be better. Its still a good standby but with other places springing up all the time I just cant see spending $30 here on 2 meals with NO tip. Might try on the weekend for the Redneck special as they had really good chicken fried steak and gravy in their better days

It's a great throwback! The food was huge & it didn't disappoint. Our waitress was so down home old school. She knew & greeted her regulars by first name. We'll definitely be back!

Best breakfast in Vancouver! The best waitress staff in Vancouver!
When my wife and I go out we judge our tip percentage off of if it was Fat Dave's service.

Worse place to eat, they over charged my credit card and then acted like it was a mistake, a $2.40 mistake to be exact and on top of that they charged me .80 cents for my togo order, these people are straight crooked, I called them to ask why I was charged this amount and she said for tax and the take out order fee, I was highly upset with them and then what she did next was not acceptable, she hung up the phone in my face, I called back and ask why did you hang up, she said I was being abusive and she’s not going to accept that and guess what I recorded the entire call and not once was I being abusive on the call but they abused my finances, I told her that they haven’t heard the last of me, so on the next day I checked my account and sure enough they refunded me what they over charged me. Stop robbing your customers.

I asked for A1 steak sauce for my steak and was given Heinz 57 sauce. I cut and took a bite of the “steak” and it was a pink undercooked hamburger patty. Horrible!!
