My daughter and I spent Saturday together & she found this spot. We loved everything. The salad was soooo good and refreshing. The pizza was so flavorful, crispy and tangy. The pasta was so good we had shrimp in it, and they were fresh and the sauce was so flavorful and again tangy. We shared both of the pizza and the penne pasta. We highly recommend, and we definitely come again.
My husband and I hadn’t ordered from Fiammella in almost 2 years, and the pizza is even better than I remember. The crust is thin and crisp, the toppings are generous but don’t weigh down the pie or make it soggy, and the pizza was delivered quickly and HOT. Tip: if you opt for delivery or takeout, order directly from the restaurant. You’ll get a better delivery experience for less, and the restaurant gets the money, not the online service.
Hands down best pizza in Montclair!! We were a large group that visited over the weekend. They have plenty of seating inside and were easily able to accommodate our party. We tried the pear salad, beet salad, calamari fiammella, veggie pizza, original wood fired pie, shrimp alfredo and chicken parmesan, and everything was AMAZING! Their pizza was fresh, hot and crispy and the flavors did not disappoint. They use high quality Italian ingredients in their food and it definitely shows! Of course we left room for dessert and ended the night with their Nutella pizza which comes sprinkled with powdered sugar and sliced strawberries and a round of cappuccinos which were all very, very good! Needless to say, our entire group left stuffed and happy. We will definitely be going back to Fiammella again very soon!
Worm in my arugula pizza!!! I dined in a couple weeks ago here for the first time with my fiancé. It was during the Montclair pride parade so no one was in the restaurant when we went which was kind of strange. Food took a while to come out though, we ordered two appetizers and 2 small pies. Food was mediocre for the price. There were little flies maybe fruit flies? Flying around in our drinks the entire time we were there! It wasn’t till the very end of our meal that I noticed a little white worm ALIVE, crawling around on the pizza that we just ate! Immediately called the waiter over and showed him. He was extremely apologetic. He brought it back to the chef. He said he sent a video of it to his manager and it must have been on the uncooked tomatoes on the arugula pie. He proceeded to apologize and did not charge for either pies although we still paid for 40$ for two appetizers…. I hope they got this issue figured out but we will not be back. Gross.
Great place to have dinner. I wasn't too busy when I went, so everything was fast and deliciousFood: 5/5
I stopped in for dinner on Friday around 8ish and the place was empty! The service was slow and unprofessional. Let's talk about the food, the bread for the table was straight out of a wonder bread bag that was warmed up. We ordered two different style pastas, fettuccine alfredo with shrimp and shrimp fra diavolo both pastas were over cooked and lacked flavor. I see most of the reviews are raving about the pizza, maybe that's something I should try next time. The atmosphere is great and this place has lots of potential. They just need to work on the cook and the staff dealing with the customers.
Okay, so hear me out: the pizza and bread were five stars, absolutely 100% nailed. The pasta dish and fried mozz were... Kind of inedible. The contrast made us wonder if there were two chefs. I can't recommend the pizza enough; ingredients all fresh, including basil so good it just made my mouth sing. But I can't emphasize how weird the other dishes were. Overcooked past, though the lemon sauce hadn't been cooked down enough, so it just tasted odd. Chicken pounded flat. The mozz was weird. It was like taking a mouthful of cheese with a tablespoon of breadcrumbs soaked in an unidentified oil. Way too heavy, strangely flavored. Too thick, so the hot mozz collapsed on itself at once. Pizza: YES. Holy cow, yes. Everything else... Nope
This place exceeded my expectations in all aspects! The ambiance of the restaurant was extremely warm and welcoming. The staff was super friendly, and the owner also stopped by my table to make sure everything was good. I came with a group of people and we all ordered various items, and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. I personally ordered an individual size of the original wood fired pizza and the garden salad. Everything was delicious and fresh! I can't wait to come back!
We had the individual vodka pie & the fried mozzarella appetizer. More than enough food for 2. I loved the food but the service was somewhat lacking. I think they only had 3 servers working during peak dinner hours on a Saturday.
this is a must go to place the Staff is very friendly excellent food and the price was reasonable. The last time I went I had the Hotsytopsy shrimp and the Sorrentina pizza. Excellent with a nice red wine oh, by the way you have to bring your own.. Parking: Parking on the street is free after 6pm. There are two lots in the area require walking a block or two
