Fiddleheads Salon has been Washington DC's premier curly hair salon for 15 years! Fiddleheads Salon has been voted Washington DC's top 3 hair salons for 2 years in a row, 2012 and 2013 and Fiddleheads Salon has also been noted in The Washingtonian Magazine.
Fiddleheads Salon uses only all organic & botanical hair care products. Our cleansers are sulphate free, our conditioners and styling products are all wax, paraben, and silicone free. Our hair color is ammonia free. Making us environmentally friendly.

Wangui is amazing. Her attention to detail when cutting curly hair is superior. I have never witnessed a bad cut come out of her chair. She cuts and colours all textures and all lengths of hair with deft expertise.

I feel confident going here that I will get a great hair cut everytime. When you have curly hair, that is definitely not something you can always be sure of.

As anyone with curly hair knows, it takes a long time to gain any appreciable length. I am reluctant to get my haircut sooner than 4 mo because it consistently gets cut shorter than a necessary trim. I am okay with shaping layers and being flexible with what the stylist thinks will look good however... I went in for a Deva Cut and style with Kenneth today. Overall the haircut was passable, but when he asked me what I would like to do today, I said "I'm trying to grow it out and have been for awhile. Also, I know curly hair does better with some length." For reference, I need to put my hair into updos for wedding events in the next few months, as well as really enjoying how my hair is longer. While I expected maybe 2" off my split ends (hair length is mid-shoulder blade), Kenneth kept cutting and cutting and cutting, and after my hair was styled and dried, kept cutting. In total, I lost ~6" or a year and half's worth of growth when I wanted to continue growing it. Paying $85 + tip (over a $100) to not get what you want is severely disappointing. I hate feeling how short my hair is. Additionally, he pulled rather hard on my hair when applying conditioner, and when my hair wasn't dry after the diffuser on low for 15 minutes, he turned it on high and walked away without saying a word. My head felt like it was burning, and it took another stylist to notice that I wasn't sitting under the diffuser at all. I have received good hair cuts and coloring from Ken and Beth, but please consider scheduling with a hair stylist with more than a 1 year being at the salon and be point blank about the amount of hair you do or do not want cut off. Will not schedule with Kenneth again.
