Of the three times I have visited this restaurant each experience was disappointing in its own way. Not consistent in any way, shape, or form other than expecting some sort of let down by the time you get your bill. 
First time: we made a reservation and they gave our table to another large party without confirmation that it was for us.
Second time: they were having an anniversary special that we were unaware of and it was busy. Food took a long time and we complained to our sever. When we got the bill we saw a great discount on it and thought it was because he was trying to make it right.... Nope! It was a special discount for their anniversary. Not knowing this we tipped him out very well and explained our appreciation for him taking care whereas he should have notified us that everyone was getting that same discount. Got home and saw the advertisement online after the fact. You sir give servers a bad reputation and the reason we don't tip as well anymore.
Third time: Restaurant was empty but still took an hour to get our food. It was the only place not slammed on Valentine's Day so we gave it one last shot. When we, and the tables next to us, complained about the food and service the manager refused to comp us for even a drink. 

I see a lot of recent 5 star reviews and am curious if they are under new management. We may try this place again but I'm tired of spending hard earned dollars to be treated so poorly.

Traveling through Cortez to visit Mesa Verde and stayed at the Days Inn next door to this restaurant. Best Mexican food and sooo abundant! The plate was the size of a serving platter. Everything was delicious! The wait staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive. The décor was bright, fun and festive and they had a full stocked bar and creative margaritas. We are from Chicago so plenty of good Mexican restaurants but this was amazing. A real jewel!

I had this seafood in a red sauce with shrimp, big mussels, octopus, and snow crab also refried beans and fluffy yellow spanish rice.  It was excellent and the plate was so big.  I am from New Mexico, the staff was on it with the good service.
