Every year they have a great Christmas celebration. The Santa Parade is fun to watch, followed by a nice little music show or play. Then, the Main Street is filled with historic characters all playing their roles. It's fun for the family and we always enjoy it.

This place has some great food and sits on a pretty decent spot of main street overlooking one of the garden areas.

Right in the heart of old St. Charles, this set of buildings represents the very first of Missouri's legislative centers. The visitor center is small, but has lots of information to share, and tours of the capitol building are on offer. You're free to roam the grounds, which includes a lovely backyard area with river views. The yard contains gardens and plantings of all kinds, as well as sitting areas and plenty of shade. The first capitol is an important part of Missouri's history, and the historic site preserves it wonderfully!
