I've been coming here regularly for the past couple of years with my Chinese girlfriend and I think it's easily the best Chinese in Mount Pleasant, probably the best in central Michigan.

One secret is the Chinese menu, which offers different choices than the English menu, and I think is what makes it special. Those items are a little more expensive, but easily worth the premium (and are why you will find the foreign Chinese kids eating pretty much here exclusively compared to other places).

The best three Chinese menu items are 1. The roast duck 2. the beef with potatoes (this will come with a choice of two seasonings, the one WITHOUT cumin is what you probably want) 3. the beef and eggs, which is extraordinary if you just add a touch of salt.

All are delicious and make this a favorite restaurant of mine. My girlfriend says the roast duck is the best she has ever had, and that means a lot considering she was born and raised in Shanghai and First Wok's duck is her favorite.

I don't really do reviews (let alone give 5 stars), but I really can't recommend this place enough.

Just a a few seats inside, but it is take-out.  Ithink by far this is the best Chinese place in the area, Big Rapids, Mt Pleasant, Midland and Alma area.  Great food, great people working there.

Do not be afraid to look at the little menu on the left side of the counter, the one that is in Chinese that 98% of us cannot read or understand.  Talk to the gal that takes your order and let her know you want to order from that menu.  Randomly point at something, and say "I'll have this please".  She will let you now if there are little bones to watch for (some dishes do have them, eat slow don't slop it in like a hog).  Try it and enjoy the rich and sometimes unique flavors.  I have had everything on that menu except for the Duck, and have not been disappointed my any of it.  Also on that menu, only get the White Rice.  With the White Rice yo a are able to soak op and enjoy every bit of flavor and it really makes a difference.

I love their garlic sauce! Nicely prepared dishes (not over/under cooked) Small sit down area (5) 4 top tables or order take away. Nice people running it.

I always get the same thing: steamed chicken and mixed veggies and the garlic sauce. It's always fresh and perfectly cooked. I love their sauce and their rice is the only white rice I will eat. Yum!
