I enjoy this small shop of aquatic wonders. They have well kept tanks and supply both saltwater as well as some uncommon freshwater fish. which is really appreciated by me in this hobby. As their name implies it's a fish store dedicated to the fish keeping hobby. Stocking plants, invertebrates many types of fish and supplies needed to keep them properly maintained.

I’m a new hobbyist and have been on a mission visiting any fish store in and around Chicago and the northern suburbs. 

The store is clean and well organized. The tanks and animals all look well taken care of. I have purchased freshwater inverts, food and plants and have had no issues. 

I’ve read other reviews that say the prices seem high, but thusfar they seem around the same pricing or under compared to other fish stores around Chicago. 

I live much closer to another fish store which I will not name and have to drive another ten minutes to get to Fish Planet but do so because Steve has always been unfailingly kind and helpful. Being new I have a lot of questions and concerns and he’s always answered all and given good advice. I’ve been in quite a few fish stores where employees/owners are rude, dismissive and even hostile.  As long as the customer service remains high I will be a loyal Fish Planet customer.

Very nice store. It's small and a bit pricey, but they take very good care of their animals and that's worth it for me. They have a wide selection of fish and inverts, many you won't see in a typical pet store. They do, however, have a small selection of certain aquarium items that you'd think they'd have a myriad of, such as fish food and water conditioners. I highly recommend for buying fish/inverts, aquarium plants, and aquariums with unique dimensions. If looking for something else, I'd call first before making a trip.
