Florida Underwater Sports has consistently gone above and beyond in the 1.5 years I have been diving with them.  So I keep coming back to them for dive training, dive travel, dive gear, and diving advice based on the exceptional experiences I continue to have with them…even though I live and dive in Seattle, WA.  I hope they will be around for many years to come!

The instructors and training are best in class.   I am a former dive instructor and have had the opportunity to take many of the technical diving classes offered through Florida Underwater Sports.  I appreciated their guidance on the best classes to help me meet my goals (which ended up saving me money), the time and energy they invested in creating  thorough and fun training experiences, and the confidence I feel in my skill level at the end of each class.

I never feel as though they are pushing gear on me.  Many times they have encouraged me to service and repair my existing gear (again, saving me money) where another shop would have pushed me to buy.  When I have needed new gear, they take the time to understand my priorities and offer me guidance on what may best match my needs.  As a result, I feel great about the gear investments I have chosen to make.

If you haven't been on a trip with them, sign up now!  My first trip with this shop, Truk Lagoon in 2016, exceeded all of my expectations.  Since then I've joined them for some smaller trips as well as dives in the Florida area.  They choose great destinations, handle organization and logistics, bring together a fun group of divers, and all I have to do is show up and enjoy the amazing dives and company…what's not to love?

In the end what you will have a hard time finding at just any dive shop you happen upon is the staff and owners who will truly invest in helping you reach your goals and get the most out of your diving experiences.  Whether it's choosing the right gear, figuring out how to get in the water more often, planning for a trip, or expanding your diving skills so you can go on new adventures…they will find a way to get you where you want to be.  They have a wealth of experience and expertise combined with a true love for diving, all of which they generously share with everyone who comes through the door (or emails, in my case).  They seem genuinely invested in finding and creating opportunities for everyone in their extended community to enjoy diving as much as they do.   

Give them a try, you'll be glad you did!

I went there today looking for some small items and the guys were nice polite and patient. the store is very clean and has a great inventory.

The staff at the shop is incredible and extremely knowledgeable. The instructors will have you feeling extremely comfortable during the entire class. I just completed my course and with both days in the Gulf having 2 to 3 ft visibility I had the utmost confidence to complete my skills. Looking forward to diving with them again real soon. They suck left me out on the beach for 1hour and 30 min (doug did )  test of them are great a woman called my mom crying worried about while Doug was scuba diving like 🙄 Cops came and my mom was beyond mad 😡 also I was in a bathing suit and sandals and I was a 11

Just got my open water certification & had a great experience.  Greg & Doug are super accommodating to anything you want to do.  Both of them made me feel very comfortable in the water (despite less than desirable weather conditions!!) and work really well with you on anything you might struggle with.  Chris at the shop is super helpful and they are all quick to respond to any questions you might have along the way.  Pretty cool getting my certification over a couple weekends of diving as well.  Only suggestion I might add would be to go over a few things in class a little better since so much of the learning is done online; but if you ask questions, they always are patient & willing to explain things to you.  Will definitely be coming back for more!
