Story

Florissant Dental Services first opened in 1956. Dr. J. Richard Landgraf Sr. served the great people of Florissant, Missouri for many years at the original location. In 1978 John Landgraf graduated from Washington University’s School of Dentistry and joined his father’s practice. Needing more space, they moved the practice to our current location in Old Town Florissant. John Landgraf’s son, Sean, who graduated from University of Missouri Dental School, carries on the family dental legacy and is treating patients at his father’s side. With our continued growth we’ve added yet another associate dentist: Dr. Ryan Beelman. Ryan grew up in nearby Waterloo, Illinois and graduated second in his class from Southern Illinois University School of Dentistry. As you can see, our dental team is highly trained and prepared to provide you with quality dental service.

My 10 year old son (who is not afraid at the dentist office and does not cry easily) was getting a filling.  The dentist gave him some kind of shot to numb the area and then began drilling right after.  My son was in obvious pain and was crying. It would take a blind and deaf person to not realize that their patient was writhing in pain. I was sitting across the room and could tell that the dentist was not stopping.  I had to stand up and tell him to stop and tell him that my son was crying and in pain.  The dentist did not even make eye contact with me as he gave more numbing solution and then continued with the procedure.  The dentist tried to make small talk with me about how he had the exact same work done a couple weeks ago and was also in pain.  Not once did he or the others helping him acknowledge that they just hurt a 10 year old boy or apologize.  It was as if I wasn't even there and that my son's comfort didn't matter to them.  It wasn't until I was leaving the office and told the receptionist to cancel all the future appointments for my family (8 of us) that this dentist looked at me and tried to make pathetic excuses for himself.  Unfortunately, I should have left this practice months ago because this is not the first time a filling or tooth work has been painful for us.  I am giving 2 stars because the girls at the front desk and the girls who do the regular checkup cleanings are always very gentle and kind to my family.

I rarely write reviews, but I felt it necessary for Florissant Dental. I've been twice now, once for an initial exam and once for fillings. First off, their hours are so accommodating to working professionals. Often it isn't realistic to take time off for appointments. Having evening options is so valuable. Second, I haven't had to wait for more than 10 minutes for an appointment once I arrive, despite the fact that they are a popular practice! I've seen two different dental assistants (so sorry if that's not the correct title!) and they were both great. They explained everything they were doing and made sure I was comfortable throughout. And the dentists themselves were great! I also love that there is a small discount for paying in advance for services (gotta get those savings where you can!). Finally, after having my fillings they called that same evening to check in to see how I was doing. TL;DR: Great Practice, Great Value, Highly Recommend!

Dr. Sean Landgraf is a great dentist, and they have a top-notch operation at this location. If you are looking for quality professional work in a highly competent office, with no sales gimmicks, go here.

I only had a cleaning..this was my first visit....the staff was absolutely amazing..the dentist was very comforting and explained what needed to be done...

I am one who feared dentistry from childhood trauma.  The staff are very patient and compassionate.  The professionalism is outstanding.  I am on the road to restoring a beautiful and appealing smile.  Thanks Florissant Dental.  You guys rock!
