Story

Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs is a 2040acre park in Las Vegas, Nevada. The park is centered on Tule Springs, a series of small lakes that formed an oasis in this part of the Mojave Desert. One of the larger urban retreats in the Las Vegas Valley, Tule Springs was once considered to be far out of town but is now encroached by development. The park includes the Tule Springs Ranch, Tule Springs Archaeological Site, Tule Springs Wash and four ponds available for fishing.HistoryThe springs was first designated as a park when it was acquired by the city of Las Vegas in 1964. It was renamed Floyd Lamb State Park in 1977 when the state assumed control. The park was named after Nevada state senator Floyd Lamb, who was later convicted of taking a $23,000 bribe from an undercover FBI agent in 1983.The city took control of the park for a second time when the legislature and state in 2005 agreed to release control and ownership of Floyd Lamb State Park to the City of Las Vegas. The park was transferred to the city, on July 2, 2007 and renamed to Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs. In addition to the park, the city received control of 1300acre of Bureau of Land Management land.

Great place to venture outside. The peacocks here are so tame you can feed them by hand (beware they have quite a peck)! Wild rabbits run around. There is a nice walk and an area you can pet animals.

I was disappointed that there was quite a bit of trash around as I walked the loop around the ponds. The ducks and geese are fun to watch but there are so many! And in past years, the peacocks were beautiful but this time I only saw one meandering in the parking lot. New housing developments are encroaching too.... Years ago it was almost like being in the desert countryside-not anymore. Still a nice spot to wander about!

Ive been going to this park since I was a toddler. This park has everything that has to do with wildlife and nature. You can feed the ducks and geese. There's bunnies, peacocks, horses, etc. You can also fish. If you live in Vegas you should experience this park at least once.

Horse's for Heroes is a great and unique opportunity for our Veterans and their families. The horse riding and animal petting area is a one of a kind experience in Las Vegas. Four fishing ponds, trails and Picnic tables for all to use. Peacocks, ducks, geese and rabbits every where.
