First time to this lake for boating. Having the option to launch from one of their many launches makes for awesomeness. Nice greenish clear water with a 5 foot or so visibility. Open, many coves for those that want to anchor. Is fed by the American river, so very clean, almost drinkable water.

Nice area park for tents and/or RVs. Hookups or dry camping for rvs. Public restrooms available. Drinking water available. Sr. Discounts. Dump station for a fee. Lake popular for boating and fishing.

Beals Point main campground is just off Auburn Folsom Rd and walking distance to Folsom Lake however no direct views of lake from campground however very nice nature area.
The primitive off season sites: $28 
Reservation fee $8
Extra vehicle $12 per night 
2 vehicles are allowed per site
Full hook up is $58 
Coin operated showers are $1.00 for 10 minutes.
Bike trail beside campground
Quiet hours from 10pm to 6am

Rangers and staff made us feel welcomed and safe! Family friendly place. If your hauling a trailer though be aware road there is not for the faint of heart. Some spots on rattlesnake road barely have room for one car. If you have small children be aware some campsites are on mountains...well all of them are just some have a little more flat space then others.

So much fun. Nice place to take the family for even just the day. They also have campsites there if interested in camping.
