I do enjoy a Food Lion. Good deals, and their store brand items are just as good as name brand. Employees are friendly without being imposing or ostentantious about it. Produce is fresh, and you can get a regular sized apple that doesn't like it was dosed with steroids.

Usually fruit, veggies & meats I'm looking for. But totally disappointed about changes in near department. Refused (said against policy now) They will not cut up, slice, etc any meats anymore. Wanted to buy a 6lb shoulder (cut into chucks for need stew) I was told they can't do it & don't even have the equipment to do it anymore. Even told me the little beef stew & bites were just scrapings they didn't want to throw out. So they package up what's left, I was so truly shocked. Huge concern about the meats at Food Lion & my health.

I shop here every week, sometimes twice when I get food ideas. They have a good selection of ethnic spices, foods, etc. The produce is always good, some good deals are to be had. I'm not a big fan of the bakery, but mostly bc its packaged up and not kept warm. It's close to me, but if the Lidl was a bit closer I would probably be shopping there. But that's bc I don't like driving far more than anything.
