We came in on a rainy day looking for Birks. We were greeted by the owner who was super friendly and helpful. I had been trying on Birks for months and had not been able to find a pair that was comfy. The owner sized me correctly and told me all about the different styles and how to properly care for them etc. This was super helpful and I'm glad I went here because if I had went somewhere else I wouldn't have been fit correctly or know when it's time to get the soles replaced. I love supporting local businesses, especially across from MSU! I'll be back when I'm in need of another great pair of shoes!

Before I went to the store, I read the 3 reviews already posted here and so was wary of the owner. Indeed, when I was browsing the shoes, I heard him talking with another customer he knew well and he sounded judgmental and opinionated about products made in China or ordered online. But the selection of shoes was great and he was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable in helping me make a decision. He was very nice to me, giving me compliments and offering me a great deal on out of season shoes. I like to buy from a small business and I like to buy products not made in sweat shops or with poorly paid laborers so I am so glad I came to the store regardless of the bad reviews. There were tons of great shoes and I encourage you to go there. (He also mentioned retiring soon so don't let him scare you from a good store.)

This is a store you want to go too! The Owner Richard is one of the Most Polite and courteous people you could ever meet! Very helpful! It is a way a Store should be run!!!

Horrible. I would give this store zero stars if I could. I mentioned to the man (owner, I suppose) that I had ordered Birkenstocks online but they hadn't fit me so I would like to try on some different sizes and styles. He blatantly told me that he was not interested in helping me if I wasn't going to buy from him (which I never even said!). A few minutes later when I asked to try on a pair of Birkenstocks, he straight up told me no and would not let me try on the shoes. What a pathetic, rude, and arrogant man. I love supporting local, family owned businesses, but I'd much rather buy from eBay than this man. I should've checked Yelp before I went, as it is obvious now that he has this sort of reputation. Do not give this man your business!
