April 8, 2017 I attended the USCCA Expo at the Fort Worth Convention Center. I noticed officers patrolling through the Expo all day. About 3 pm I checked my oxygen supply, (I am a COPD Patient) I found that I was almost out of oxygen. I contacted USCCA personnel and was told to set down and stay put, they would find someone to help. The next I knew a Fort Worth Officer was asking what my problem was. After a quick briefing, he told me he would find someway to get me out and to my truck. He returned and informed me that nothing was available to get me to my truck, but not to worry, he would take me out and spend what ever time was needed. During the time it took, he told me he had 29 years and 2 months on the force, he was Afro-American. He also told me that his father had COPD and would not get oxygen (too proud). It took some time, but we made it to my truck. He stayed by my side while I changed oxygen tanks and began the recovery process. He was amazed that recovery could be so short. He was going to tell his father of our experience. I wish your Department to know of the caring of at least one Officer.
