The officers here treat the prisoners with human decency from my observation. It's important to remember that police officers do not make the rules, they just enforce them. I know of a couple guys that were prisoners here for a minor offense. When they brought them in and placed them with three other prisoners in the same cell. So they didn't separate the two men but allowed them to stay together. That was actually very merciful and kind because one of the men, unbeknownst to the staff, was/is very claustrophobic (fear of tight/confined spaces). Allowing him to stay with his friend, made the situation far less terrifying for that individual. So that was beyond decent for them to do that. A short while later, they transferred the other man with the three others to county jail, leaving the claustrophobic one by himself. It wasn't long before they transferred another prisoner into that's man's cell so he wouldn't be isolated. Very decent of them. Very decent. I hope they will continue to do little acts of mercy like this to other prisoners brought in. Definitely praying over the Bedford police department for their protection and continuation of ethical decency.

Not a review I ever thought I would write but I had to after my first night in jail EVER! I realize jail is NOT supposed to be a good experience however Officers Christie, Aguirre, Garza and a blonde lady night time officer made the experience a lot less scary. They treated me like a fellow human being. They gave me my allergy medicine. Gave me pain medication when I had a back ache and answered all of my questions. I never want to go back but it is nice to know that there are still some "good ones" out there that don't abuse the power in the authority they have.

Normally when your husband goes to jail, it is a bad experience, but this jail actually treated my husband like a human being. Officers Garza and Christie made sure that he was fed, had his medicines, and communicated with me perfectly on the situation when I did my wellness calls in him. They were very kind and helpful with any question I had and processed all paperwork with a quickness. I hope neither of us go back to jail, but i can for sure say I am thankful for those officer for taking such great care of my husband.

If I could give it 0 Stars I would. This is the worst police department. I was in a car accident and the police on the scene were extremely RACIST, rude and did not care at all. I requested information in person. Filled out the correct forms. Did everything they needed me to do. I’ve been calling everyday for almost two weeks straight and they transfer me to voicemails and refuse to give me information I’m legally allowed to obtain. Every one who works here is extremely rude. I expressed my frustration to the man at the clerk desk (front desk) and he literally laughed about it and said well sorry there’s nothing I can do. I have never seen a police department be so careless. They are no help at all if anything just making this situation more stressful. I’ve expressed to them this is a time sensitive manner and the insurance needs this information to get my car fixed so I can go about my day to day life and they refuse to help in the slightest bit. The officer on the scene of the accident will not return my phone calls (Office Garcia) and took down 4 witness statements and only included 1 in the police report and won’t relese the other 3 statements. The 3 he ignored were all of once race as well and mine and my fiancé’s but he did favor in and took the witness statement of the other driver and the one witness who were all of the same skin color. Might be a coincidence, might not. They were extremely nice to the other people but not to me or my fiancé. It feels like a racial thing but I can’t jump to conclusions. With that being said this is the absolute worst Police department if you need to go to a cop for anything I do not recommend Bedford. If you do have to use Bedford best of luck to you because they won’t get anything done. And on a side note the police report was entirely wrong and they refused to edit it at all. Just to top it off.
