Understated in almost every way, this nook of a restaurant serves up a very limited menu of Chinese standards, wine and beer. The downstairs serves Chinese street food inspired dishes while the upstairs is more formal. The space is tiny so be prepared to sit close to the table next to you and limited real estate on your table. The seasoning of the food is subdued, bordering on under seasoned. We ordered pan fried pork dumplings that were simply a delicately seasoned ground pork on a dumpling skin... So green onions, no additional ingredients. We visited in the winter so I am not sure if they are paying homage to the cold season devoid of fresh veg, but my shrimp fried rice had a few scant pieces of cabbage and no other veggies. The flavor was gentle and mild. My girlfriend had the stir fried duck noodles. This was the best dish we had. Again a surprisingly scant amount of veg in the mix, but a nice balanced flavor. Overall we enjoyed it and look forward to returning, perhaps try the soups, but we both left asking the question " is our palate just used to over spiced American style foods and this is normal amount of flavor?" I will be back to test through the changing menu to see
Simple menu and FANTASTIC DUMPLINGS. everything else was good, yes, the noodles and fried rice but OMG THE DUMPLINGS. We got an order of pork dumplings - pan fried is the way to go. And they. Were. Outstanding. Truly the best I’ve had in my life so far. We ordered another plate of them before leaving at ate them all. Come here for the dumplings. And the other food too, of course Stay for the dumplings. Get the dumplings. Dumplings. That is all I have to say.
If I could write this place a 15 out of 10 I would easily! What a breath of fresh air! Such class in their decor & approach. Absolutely in love w/their simple menu allowing for amazing wine pairings. Upon walking in you feel the Modern China in decor + once presented with their food you enter the world of diverse street food that melts in your mouth. It is an experience that should be savored slowly methodically and patiently. A great restaurant is one in which their limited offerings make a strong statement + Fortune Wok to Table does just that! I am so happy to have found this place + will be back for the full pairing experience.
Nice neighborhood place to get steamed or fried dumplings. Personally would go with the fried, I thought the steamed were just OK, the dough didn't quite hold up to the steaming. They also have a few noodles dishes that are good. Great service very friendly. Will go again.Food: 4/5
The Shanghai Noodle was pretty good, especially the beef. Very tender cut and cooked. The Vegetables dumpling was pretty tasty too. Less a star because for a plate of Noodle it cost like $20! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian dumplings
Classy place, good food friendly staff but U need2 spend a couple dollars extra to get your Street Noodles hooked up the way U see mine in the photo. My Street Noodles came out to be 36.00$ l actually know of a couple other places that I could’ve got more bang for my bucks. However I had never tried this spot B4 and my female said she loves this place. She’s never said that about anywhere so I had no choice. Once I saw my portion of food I had2 put in a second order because there was no way it could have satisfied the both of us. Ended up getting her some fried rice which is what she originally wanted anyway. ‍ Anyway not a bad spot at all & I’d Mos Def return & try more items from the menu. Also the parking is a nightmare. So check em out if you’re ever in the neighborhood and holla at a Playa
PAN FRIED PORK DUMPLINGS ARE *chefs kiss* SO GOOD! Staff was very kind. Felt like a Berlin restaurant. Negatives… Loved the atmosphere, didn’t love that they let people choose where to sit given how tiny the restaurant is. If there’s a 2 top or 4 top open and a couple choose the 4top even though there’s a family of 4 behind them… it’s a little odd.
Service was fantastic! Beef noodles are wonderful. Shrimp fried rices is good. I will say I was disappointed in the dumplings. I love dumplings! I drive out of my way to try them everywhere I travel. The dumplings were cooked perfectly. I really didn't care for the filling at all. I tried the beef and the pork dumplings. I will definitely be back for thr beef noodles!
Went here for dinner and was somewhat packed but was seated fairly quickly. Service was good but food was not so good. Wonton soup was very salty and had uncooked cabbage that was very hard. Fried rice was good, but had a lot of msg and cabbage was barely cooked. Overall a decent place but not worth the price.
We stopped by for a light dinner and sat in the front courtyard. The downstairs menu has two items, and is meant to capture the feel of Chinese street food, which it does perfectly. We split an order of fried pork dumplings and beef noodles. Both were outstanding. The dumplings are possibly the best in the city, and the noodles are excellent as well. Both are hand made from scratch, and it tastes like it. They now have hand-made soup dumplings the first Sunday of the month. They have a really good dumpling soup in the winter only. Great food, and the service is fast and friendly. We have eaten there several times; the food and service are consistently excellent. One if our favorite restaurants in Denver.
