DRIVER HAS ATTITUDE ISSUES! My husband and I were among approximately 30 people who attended a conference in Tuskegee, Alabama from December 2nd to December 6th, 2017. We left the Kentucky State University campus at 10:00 am, changed drivers a couple of hours later and when the new driver came on we were told he knew a good place to eat lunch and would be taking us there. At 4:00 pm he pulled the bus up in front of a dive called "Fife's Restaurant" in downtown Birmingham. This place was run down, had bars on the windows and door and certainly did not look any better inside. The food was served cafeteria style however, it was slung on the plates in a pile. People ate only because we had been waiting so long. The driver was very well known and liked by the people working there. It was obvious that he either is family to them or getting a kickback for bringing buses there. Most everyone paid $14.00 + for this food. The students complained about the price because they had limited money to spend. Before leaving the Marriott on December 6th for the return trip home my husband went to the driver and asked if we could eat somewhere else. The driver wanted to know why we didn't want to go back there and made rude comments to us when we told him. Of course, he went there anyway. When no one got off the bus to go in he went in, and left the bus running with a load of people sitting there waiting on him. We have been on many bus trips but have never encountered a driver like this. Most driver will choose an area that has multiple restaurants you can walk to when the bus unloads and asks that everyone be back to the bus at a certain time. This method has always worked well in the past. When I asked the driver's name (since he did not introduce himself or wear a badge) the bus coordinator was reluctant to give his name. Finally, I was told it was Donnie Turner.

I agree with everything M. Anthony mentioned in his review. I've taken the shuttle, dating back to the 80s without a hitch. Between arrival and departure, we waited in line at least 3.5 hours, not including the wait getting into the departure parking lot. My mother almost passed out waiting for departure, so she was allowed to leave, however, I chose to wait in line for at least another hour with our other guest. Frankly, there would have been a riot had we elected to depart with my mother. There was obviously a complete lack of planning, logistics, and forethought by this company. When you spend $100 you expect better service. I am not sure I could ever in good conscience take this shuttle again. It is shameful the impression this company must have left with our out of town guests.

It's seems like such a great idea and if organized better, could be the best solution to moving so many people in and out of the Indy 500. We were one of the lucky ones and arrived by 7:20 am to the parking lot. We waited a little over an hour to get on a bus. By the time we left, the line was wrapped through each aisle of the parking lot. And the traffic for people to get into the lot was backed up for miles. After the race was over, we walked as fast as we could to the return lot. The line was several blocks long on both sides. No signs to indicate if you were in the right line, you couldn't get close enough to talk to one of the organizers, so you just waited, for hours, while they loaded ONE bus at a time (with 6-7 buses waiting). They did eventually start loading two buses at a time to which the crowd cheered. Honestly, we should have driven to the raceway early and parked nearby. The traffic was moving much better than the shuttle and when the bus dropped us off at 8:45 am, there was still plenty of parking with a walk (but no worse than standing in line for hours). And price wise likely would have been similar (we had 4 people). Suggestions? They should reserve parking spots when you reserve a spot on the bus. The lot we were in took people in that didn't have bus reservations. The lot was full before we even got on a bus. And with traffic backed up for miles trying to get into the lot, I can only imagine the language coming out of their mouths when they realized they didn't have a parking spot to ride the shuttle that they already paid for. It would have been more efficient to load more buses at a time as well and if that means getting more shuttle buses, so be it. They are making plenty of money at $30-45 dollars a head. For the return trip, my suggestions would be to invest in some basic signs, provide more people to walk the lines to make sure people were in the correct line (one worker was yelling at people in line telling them if they had a blue ticket, they were in the wrong line...but yet there was no way for them to know), load 3-4 buses at a time, tell people while loading to fill from the back of the bus to make loading more efficient, and FILL the bus. Our bus had 10 seats available and even though the driver told them we weren't full, they sent us anyways. That's ridiculous when you have another bus that is jammed like sardines. I will say that by the time we got to the front of the line, they were doing a better job, but we had waited 2 hours to get to this point and they've had 5 years or more of practice to get this right. Overall it's a great idea. If they can master their execution it's the way to go. But I'd wait a few more years and for some better reviews before I would ever consider it again.
