What was once the renowned and historic “Sun Café” has become an intimate and happening bar setting with an amazing selection of low-cost Mexican Food. An authentic tasty eatery and bar conveniently located at the heart of the great Gaslamp Quarter in Downtown San Diego.
Our delicious food is prepared over open flame on a mesquite charcoal grill, the oldest cooking method in the world which intensifies the flavors and makes every item taste as good as it does down in Mexico.
Funky Garcia’s authentic menu features antojitos such as rolled taquitos, carne asada fries and the famous nacho plate. You can always choose from your favorite Mexican plates and order the best street tacos (from carne asada and al pastor to fish or shrimp) at this hip and happening place.
