GOING OUT OF BUSINESS! (see my photo). After I stopped at McD's for a rest stop I walked over to Gander Mountain. There was a big sign that they were going out of business. I did a walk-through. They had some nice merchandise. I was looking at the gym clothes and shoes then I realized that New York State will charge me almost nine percent sales tax on wearable items and shoes. The heck with that and I walked out.

Terrible customer service. There prices are high and they give NO discount to veterans like every other store. I call to ask if had a certain ammunition in stock and said they did. I arrived 10 min later and was told they never carried that brand. They lie to get you in store and try to press other products on you. Glad to see they are leaving. BAD business!!!

Not good. I peeled off price tag covering what was $44.95 under the $55.00 price on it which I got 40% off. BAD TRICK. No wonder they are closing if they are ripping people off like this. Raise the price & give delusion of giving people a deal. That sucks.

Still way over priced even after the "discount"... Many items with new higher price stickers over the old stickers with a lower price.. after the discount you are still paying just about what the original retail price was

Tonawanda Store Closing. EDIT: Seeing how Gander Mountain Corporate refuses to respond to my inquiries, here's something from the WYRK website as of MAY 4, 2017. "Earlier this week it was announced that Camping World had submitted the winning bid to acquire Gander Mountain’s assets, but it would mean most of the company’s inventory would be liquidated and nearly all of its remaining stores, including TONAWANDA, would be closed. Camping World would be obligated to keep open 17 of Gander Mountain’s most profitable stores with a focus on its boating business, but hunting, fishing and guns would be sold off." BANKRUPT? . If you have any Gift Cards, now would be a good time to use them. A previous review predicted this store would be closed within a year. With today's (2/13/17) announcement of Gander Mountains possible Bankruptcy filing, the prediction was spot-on. This store was legendary for it's poor customer service even before Cabelas came to Buffalo. Two-star rating because the check-out girls are friendly. The only thing I buy here is an annual fishing license and live bait- and even that takes an inordinate of time standing in line. . .
