Story

We not only work on shoes, boots, jackets & purses but belts, luggage, ball gloves and so much more! We make custom belts out of the best leather you can get!
We can stitch, patch, fix zippers, refinish most jackets and purses, resole, re heel, custom fit some calves of boots, replace some hardware, eyelets, rivets, punch holes, shorten straps or belts, shine and waterproof your shoes and boots, new insoles and so much more!

We also carry a variety of shoes as well as shoe and foot care products and insoles and orthotics.

I'd been hanging on to a pair of pull-on leather riding boots for years, though they did not fit my calves. I tried stretching them myself at home to no success, and tried another shoe shop (also with no great success, though. The shoe shop I visited most recently (which has very good service and does great work) recommended George's, since I thought I'd probably have to have some elastic inserts sewed into the boots so I could wear them. Before cutting into the boots and sewing in a stretchy expansion, George's Shoes & Repair figured they'd give stretching the leather another try. I'm not sure what magic they used, but it worked! I now have boots that fit, and didn't have to compromise on cutting the leather or adding a stretchy bit of elastic. I tried the boots on a few times, and the staff worked with me until they were stretched to fit. I'm so pleased with the service--the George family's commitment to providing helpful advice and presenting customers with several options, quick turnaround times (given that they are really busy!), and reasonable prices. If you need a good cobbler, I don't know if you could find anyone better!

I wish I could give more stars than 5! My family began bringing shoes to George's in the mid-late 60s (when my parents moved to St. Paul). I recall as a very small child going into the store when it was in Har Mar Mall (I think? I was very young...). Now I'm bringing *my* child in with me. The entire staff is very knowledgeable and very friendly. The repair work is outstanding and the prices are reasonable. Ron has a sublime talent for understanding what needs to be done on custom work. I am an entertainer at renaissance festivals and wear specialized boots. Ron has cared for those boots for many many years, and has even altered another company's hand-made boots to the point that the original company was arguing with me that the work on the boots was original to them. I have also brought leather jackets in for repair and as expected the work is outstanding and the prices are quite reasonable. I would never bring my shoe repair/other leather care needs anywhere else and I always recommend George's to my friends! Thanks Ron, family, and crew, you guys are amazing!

Excellent shoe repair shop! If it's leather and needs fixing &/or cleaning George's got ya covered. Need a unusual color of shoe polish or leather cleaner & conditioner? They got it. And I solved my winter salt stains on my nice shoes. YESSSSS.

I am so amazed how great they fix my two pair of boots, from really really bad looking, now they look brand new. Thank you for doing this, I really appreciate it and you just don’t know how happy I am to see them like this, those are my favorite boots. Thank you and thank you so much. You are the best.

I've had a couple pairs of dress shoes fixed up here and have been helped by a different very attractive woman each time. it's nuts. The shoe work is quality as well.
