Good prices, good selection. I may have gotten there too late but I was disappointed there wasn't any fresh seafood.

It was 9:21pm and the only checkout lines open are the self checkout only. And there's a good amount of shopper in the store and a line of customers waiting to be checked out, but it's that only self checkout that we can use. This is terrible !! terrible !! terrible !!!
Our time is valuable also. We would like to be checked out and quick as possible , but you can't do that in a single self check-out line for all of your customers that come in your store. It's not fair and it's not right. We give you our business, so give us better service and some respect.

I have lived in northeast DC for 38 years and shopped at Giant Food Stores for at least that many. First I shopped at the 3104 Queens Chapel Rd, Hyattsville, MD 20782 location and when it closed in 2013 I started shopping at 5815 Eastern Avenue, Hyattsville MD location. Great customer service  is the main reason why. 

Today I would like to recognize Kareem, a young man who went out of his way to help me on July 19, 2017. I made a purchase of many items, left the store, drove my mother home with her items and went home.  When I arrived I could not have one of my purchases.  I went back to the store  in and Kareem was kind enough to go out of his way to assist.  

I was reminded of how much it meant to have someone to go out of their way to help and appreciative that Kareem cared enough to make a difference in not only my life but I am sure the lives of many others. I believe this young man sets the bar extremely high when it comes to providing excellent customer service to the those who frequent Giant and should be commended for that. He is an asset to those he serves and to your organization as well.
