I pretty much grew up going to Black Bear. The service is great. The food is amazing. A lot of the waiters and waitresses have been working there for 15+ years and they really know how to keep the customer happy. It's good for larger parties as well as small dining. 10/10 recommend this restaurant.

This is my favorite Black Bear Diner! If I am in Northern CA I will drive the extra miles to visit. The food here is always wonderful, tasty, warm, and served in large portions with  a smile 😁 Their pancakes are unbeatable- moist, slightly sweet, and fluffy. The ribs fall off the bone and are juicy and flavorful. If you are in the area drop in for some amazing comfort food. They also sell veggie burgers 😉

Biggest and best Bear Claw EVAR! It was pretty full when we arrived around midday but they found a table for us. We had a great, chatty server who recommended various dishes to us. I went for the Mini Volcano (which was a "small" plate) which had pancakes, sausage, bacon and egg. Delicious and filling!

VERY BUSY!! Service was prompt even when crowded. Server checked on us frequently, which is a plus!! My husband and I split the Asian Oriental chicken salad. Requested 2 different salad dressings on the side, waiter had salad split and served on separate plates! Good presentation. Thought it odd that we were not offered bread or crackers with our salad. I'm on a low carb diet, so would have passed on the carbs. Still 5 star.

I had the Taco salad they always last me for 2 meals they are guilt free, large and delicious, the service is always fast friendly. 
Except for this time because I and another regular gentleman customer  sitting at the bar in front of the kitchen were subjected to the Cook frustrating  racial slurs referring to his coworker as a
wet back,
I couldn't get it out of my mind the entire meal, It had been a long day so I didn't feel like discussing with the manager, clueless bigotry can ruin a good meal for every one.
