Story

All our jewelry is handcrafted. We feature many unique materials in jewelry including Murano glass, naturally expired real butterfly wings, guitar string bracelets, meteorites, and more! Unique stone jewelry include fossils, geodes, turquoise, amethyst, druzy, agate, peridot, jasper, and more! Featured jewelry designers include Patricia Locke, Jody Coyote, Joseph Brinton, Holly Yashi, and more! We can also help you design custom jewelry, including engagement rings and wedding bands!

Glassando is a locally owned and operated jewelry store located in downtown Iowa City's Old Capitol Town Center. Old Capitol Town Center is also called Old Capitol Mall and the University of Iowa calls this building the University Capitol Center. Glassando offers earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, and pendants made from gemstones such as birthstones, diamonds, and pearls. We also offer custom design including engagement rings, wedding rings, and anniversary rings made from gold, silver, or platinum. We also offer jewelry made from unique materials such as bracelets made from repurosed guitar strings and Murano glass direct from Venice, Italy. Glassando features jewelry beaded in store plus work by local, national, and international jewelry designers. Featured jewelry designers include Michael Michaud, Patricia Locke, and Holly Yashi.
