The GLBT History Museum in San Francisco’s Castro District — a project of the GLBT Historical Society — is the first full-scale, stand-alone museum of its kind in the United States. The museum currently features a long-term exhibition, "Queer Past Becomes Present,” as well as changing exhibitions in the Front Gallery and Community Gallery.
The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Historical Society collects, preserves, exhibits, and makes accessible to the public materials and knowledge to support and promote understanding of LGBTQ history, culture, and arts in all their diversity.
