Remember that story, The Giving Tree? That's what this place is for me. As a kid, I went to Gnaw Bone to play with my friends and get dirty and put on skits and sing songs. As a teenager, I went back as a counselor to learn leadership, responsibility, kindness and courage. GBC was a source of inspiration when I was a teacher. I tried to help my students see that the whole world was a classroom, that there was always something new and interesting to learn, because that was what Fred taught me. Now it is a place where I take walks and listen to the birds and smell the fresh air. And occasionally get a little dirty :)
