I recently became a member of the Layton Golds Gym, and I have already had a negative experience with the gym. When I signed up for my membership, the girl who helped me asked that I put my account number down, which I did. There was one number missing in the middle of the the account number which made it so my first payment couldn’t come out. I had been watching for the amount to come out of my account and after about a week of not seeing it come through, I stopped in to talk to the gym about it. I brought it up to them-no one asked me why it hadn’t come through(I have been at the gym every day). We searched and searched until we figured out I had one digit missing. I corrected the account number and the front desk employee said he would talk to the billing and get it to go through. Today I was informed that the girl who helped me said I “INSISTED” on filling out my account number(she asked me to fill it out), so they will not waive the fee that was assessed.. mind you, it’s my First payment and I went in to talk to them because I hadn’t seen it come through. I feel that for them to respond in such a way, considering the circumstance, is poor customer service and makes me have a negative opinion towards the gym that I just recently joined. With the various gyms that surround this area, I would think that customers would be the prime focus and ensuring that the customers are satisfied. I would understand if I had been a member for some time or if the transaction was declined due to NSF, but the issue was caused by one simple mistake that was corrected immediately.

Way crowded at certain times, but this is good for business. It is nice to have a gym at this location. Price is a steal. Very cheap and next to nothing for a basic membership. Lots of high school students during the week while I was there in 2016. Don't they have their own gym? They have a ton of machines here, which is very helpful for me. They're closed Sundays which is awful, but it's still a nice place to go.

This is the worst gym that I have been to. The customer service is s***, all of the equipment is in this repair, and the personal training is very poor and not worth the money. When I first went in to sign up they lied to me about the price and they wouldn't refund it after I talk to them about it. If you value your money and your gym don't go here. You'll regret it. When I called to ask for a refund for the money that they took, the employee that answered, Steve, was very rude and didn't help at all with any of my problems. When asked what could be done he stated that they was nothing that could be done and I would have to deal with it. This is honestly the worst gym that I have ever been to and I would not recommend it to even my worst enemy.

The Layton Golds is only interested in making as much money as possible. They do not care about the patrons. The equipment is falling apart and the bathroom is always filthy. They are closed Sundays and Holidays. My constructive comments have been ignored for 4 years. Why haven't I quit the place? Convenience only. I live a few blocks away and don't care to drive across town to Vasa, but probably will make the change soon. (BTW, I have patronized other Golds franchises such as the one in Twin Falls Idaho where I used to live that have a concern for their clients and are managed far better.)
