Reviews

The room I had was clean, neat, and tidy.  It had a very comfortable bed, and a wonderful view of the Mississippi.  I fell asleep with the windows wide open because I couldn't stop looking out over the river and the lighted bridge.  The walkway across to the convention space was easy to access and made it so I didn't have to walk outside in the rain to get to my business activities.  Tony Roma's restaurant was moderately priced and the food was excellent.  The waterpark isn't my cup-of-tea, but having it, too, attached to the hotel had me strongly considering the Grand Harbor Resort as a family vacation spot.  Across the parking lot, there is a museum, and next to that is the casino.  We could easily arrive at the hotel, never really leave the Port area and fill our week with relaxation and fun.  I'll definitely be back.  It's a great setting for a family vacation, or, in my case, for a chess tournament.  I couldn't be any happier with the location.

Overall we had a great time. Our kids our 3, 5, and 7. I think the water park was a perfect size for them and us. After getting comfortable with the layout they were able to be much more independent and we were able to sit back and relax more. It is small enough that a couple  hours at a time feels like plenty, even to the kids, which lends time to outside activities. The hotel room was definitely not a $200+ a night (Saturday rate) quality, but our Friday rate was very reasonable. There were a handful of great staff who were super helpful and really enjoy what they do. We also appreciated all the extra activities (boat making, cookie decorating, boat races, and face painting) that all really adds to your experience. Our kids are already asking when we will be coming back. With all the things to do in Dubuque I think we will!

Great fun for the whole family. Water slides, lazy river, and hot tub made the visit really enjoyable. Rooms were very clean, water park wasn't overly crowded. Arcade Had all the great carnival style games that award tickets but could use some retro gaming options though

This Resort is disgusting!
Curtains in the rooms are Rags - sheets are Gray & the beds were thrown together - not made.  People who cleans the rooms need lots of training.  I would suggest you find a different place to stay.
BEAUTIFUL Views from rooms - some one is Taking Gross advantage financially of this place.

We have always had great times at Grand Harbor. We were just there today and enjoyed ourselves. What a great place right here in our own little area!
