I read the two negative reviews: bad paint and someone buying their already purchased stuff. Bad paint -- I bought some paint for $10/gallon the other day. It was a great color and would have paid $35-50/gallon from most other places. Obviously, there is a limited selection so you'll have to keep checking for the right color. It's a mix of outdoor/indoor paint. As for the smell/drying? No problems on my end. The realtor actually loved the color -- makes it easier to list the house. As for someone buying something already purchased? That stinks. Normally, it should have been marked as sold UNLESS someone i.e. buyer ripped off the sign and basically fooled the staff. Green Project is a no-refund store. However the exception in this case could have been made -- with a manager's approval. Overall, the store is pretty solid. It's RECYCLED stuff. If you understand that much, then you'll like saving the earth.

Lots of old reclaimed building materials. Habitat for humanity seems to have better prices but for certain things this is a good place to check, especially for doors, sinks, etc

Don't buy paint from here!! I realize that the paint here is recycled. I shouldn't have used it to paint the ceiling of my nursery. 3 weeks later, the room still wreaks of paint. The ceiling is dry. The room has a back door that leads directly outside. I turned on the ceiling fan and just left the door wide open with the fan on for days. This did nothing. I purchased an ozone machine and allowed it to run for a day. Still, the horrific paint smell remains. I figured since I'm expecting maybe it's just my super hero senses. But none of my family can bare to be in the room without our heads swimming. Eventually, I'll get the room repainted. But I'd like to wait as I don't want to inhale more harsh chemicals during pregnancy. Thanks Green Project for ruining my nursery. To those seeking paint the name of the batch that I used was called white #5. 🙁

Staff is extremely friendly. The place itself is a bit hectic - lots of stuff everywhere. But, if you are willing to dig through some things you can definitely find cool things for pretty cheap. Glad that there is a place like this in the city that is reclaiming a lot of what was lost during Hurricane Katrina. Huge selection of doors and windows, paint, etc.
