I went in to see Dr. Gregory Loren at Core Orthopedic Medical Center in February 2017 and couldn't have been more disappointed with the experience. I was being seen for a shoulder issue and arrived with MRI and my primary care physician. Dr. Loren examined me, dismissed my symptoms, he did not bother to look at my imaging, rather just glanced at the report. When documenting my specific shoulder tests, he reported them as negative, diagnosed me with chronic non-specific musculoskeletal pain and scapular dyskinesis, sending me on my way with a $385 bill. He cited he spent 45 minutes with me on my chart note, while in truth it was a total of 11 minutes. I continued to experience symptoms for another 5 months and finally couldn’t tolerate the severe daily pain. I thankfully sought the advice of another physician who actually listened to my reported symptoms, performed the same tests which were all positive (Dr. Loren documented all as negative) and ordered the appropriate imaging. I am SO happy I didn’t resign myself to Dr. Loren’s diagnosis or I would still be in pain and never had figured out what was really going on. As it turned out, I had extensive injuries which fully explained my reported complaints. In actuality, this wasn’t chronic pain – I had a full thickness supraspinatus tear, a HAGL lesion, a damaged long thoracic nerve, 90% ulnar collateral ligament tear and more. Based on my experience, I would recommend finding another physician for orthopedics.

My son is a competitive high school runner, and he was having some knee pain. Dr. Loren zeroed right in on the root cause and ordered some PT to fix the problem. I feel that he is a partner in keeping my budding young athlete on the field. He gets it, and he knows exactly what to do. THANKS!
