As a big Hallmark shopper, i was very disappointed when i was there shopping yesterday. As i was shopping i was carrying a bunch of merchandise that i was going to buy, i reached for something in a shelf so i could see it better and as i was pulling it out, it knocked an item over and shattered it on the floor. A worker came over and we both were picking up the pieces and i told her that i was so sorry and that i would pay for it if i have to. Im standing in line now and when i get up to the desk i believe a manager was ringing me up and said, “are you paying for this?” Talking about the broken item. I said “if i have to.” I realize that i told them i would pay for it when i was apologizing but i didnt actually think they would make me pay for it ESPECIALLY when i bought $70.00 worth of full price items. Im sure they could have just ate the 8 bucks they made me pay. Very disappointed in you Hallmark. I work in a family business with only 1 store and when a customer accidentally breaks a 300 dollar lamp, we understand it was an accident and dont make them pay anything especially when they are buying a few hundred dollars worth of items.
