The passenger is my brother, an alcoholic for whom we purchased a ticket to get him to rehab. We specifically chose the will call ticket option for him to pick up at the bus station as he has no smart phone, email address, etc. When he arrived at the station in Panama City, FL, he was told the ticket was an eticket and it was out of the employee's hands. My brother called us, unsure of what to do and already at an extreme heightened level of anxiety as an alcoholic leaving for rehab. We spent the next 30 minutes on the phone with customer service to no avail. Pretty much everyone saying it was an eticket, even though we had confirmation in our email that said he would be picking up the ticket at the station. There were good Samaritans at the Panama City station that attempted to be infinitely more helpful than the employee there. Finally, the bus driver allowed him on the bus based on the paperwork he had, but could not guarantee what would happen at the next station. By now my brother's phone was almost dead due to all the extra phone calls trying to figure out what was going on and he spent the next 2 hours on the bus not knowing if he was going to be totally stranded at the next stop, which was now away from any place for him to stay. While he was on this part of the trip, I attempted to get back on the phone with customer service to hopefully be proactive with any trouble he may run into in Tallahassee, the next stop. I finally got a customer service agent on the phone who actually tried to help, and she attempted to call the Tallahassee station to explain what was going on and to help ensure he would be able to continue his trip. Between each of us, we called the Tallahassee station approximately 5 times, and never reached a human being. Thankfully, my brother had the same driver in Tallahassee who assured him at that point he would get him to his destination. If not for that driver, I have no idea what would have happened. Had he not made it to his destination on time, there was a host of other issues on that end that had already been arranged that would have had to been rescheduled. All the inconvenience, stress, and lack of options to fix what was ultimately Greyhound's fault, was completely ridiculous and unacceptable. At one point we even tried to just buy him a new ticket at his first station and deal with trying to get a refund for the first ticket later for the sake of time and getting him where he needed to be, and they did not accept credit cards. EVEN IF we had purchased an eticket inadvertently (which I have email proof that we did not) it's ludicrous that there is no remedy for that at the station and that a person with a legitimately purchased ticket and a legitimate photo ID would run into this much trouble.

Worst transportation ever! Buses were full even though we had a ticket. Buses were cancelled & then broke down, had to wait for a mechanic. The corporate office customer service did nothing! I will NEVER use greyhound again!! I dont recommend it to anyone!!!
