We had a totally different experience today than we had 3 years ago when they took care of my grandfather. When taking care of my grandfather they were kind and really made us feel cared for and supported in our time of need. This time it wasn't much more than a business transaction. Nothing was more important than immediate payment, even before our loved one was in the ground. As soon as we walked into the funeral home to view our family member for the first time it was mentioned and then several times while we were with family and saying goodbye we had 30 minutes. They actually wanted their almost $12,000 payment as soon as the arrangements were discussed on Saturday. We did pay in full the day of service. Their service was not worth at all what we paid. There are additional charges for every thing. $495 just to take the body about 1/2 mile to the church. $290 for "errand vehicle" which I'm not sure what is for... he mentioned picking up death certificates but I'll be doing that myself. I would recommend you use another local funeral home for your loved ones. Please look into other facilities before choosing this one blindly. Our hard day was much worse because we chose Groce. We made this decision because my grandfather, a Pastor at a local church had worked with them so often and knew the staff well and because they took such good care of him and us when he passed 3 years ago. Sadly things are no longer the same.
I wanted to again extend my deepest thanks and appreciation to Groce Funeral Home. Scott, Stacy, and the rest of the Groce funeral services team addressed and fulfilled each and every desire that we had for my wife’s service. They helped us plan every detail and then delivered flawlessly to our wishes. The visitation, service and procession simply could not have gone any smoother - in a word, it was perfect. Mr. Groce and Stacy brought light and comfort to me and my family during this very difficult time, going above and beyond….well beyond. We are so very grateful for their knowledge, experience and professionalism as well as an unexpected friendship that developed during and afterwards. The Groce team reduced the stress and anxiety for us during a very traumatic time - for that, we are forever thankful and highly recommend their services.
Groce Funeral Home did an exceptional job with my mother’s service. Scott and Stacy went above and beyond to ensure that everything was as requested. The arrangements and service was nothing short of perfection and we are very grateful and appreciative for their attention to detail and follow-through.
My family had a horrible experience with this business, specifically a man named Johnathon. He was rude, intrusive and unprofessional. The way he treated my family made his actions overshadow the whole event. We used this same funeral service years ago for my grandfather's funeral and we didn't have any issues. If you have to use this location, this is your warning. I hope he is talked to or let go because a grieving family doesn't deserve his awful treatment.
